Mason played well, I thought. Maybe the 1st goal was a little iffy, but he also stopped a breakaway (or 2?) and looked pretty comfortable in net.
outside of maybe Jake, the rest of the team was just horrendous. Especially on D.
no fight tonight. none whatsoever.

If it's any consolation Bobrovsky shutout the Sharks. 4-2. The good old Bob shutout |

Agreed. - PLindbergh31
And he does one real important thing that we haven't had in a while. He's plays the puck well |

Let's be honest. They've been finished for a while now. You can see that in their play. - MJL
they had some fight last week and won some big games, but i never thought it would translate into a run and them getting in. half the team is injured, and they've never been on the right side of the ledger from the get go. |

giroux has been lousy imo. far too many games where he's been invisible. this is a game where you want to see him stand out and try to put the team on his back. i don't remember a single thing he did in this game. not one. - hammarby31
He's definitely had an off season, and these last 2 games were pretty bad for him. |

Not even the stretch pass to Jake for the lone goal? - feelingkettle
oh that was him? i actually wasn't looking when the pass was made. |

He played fine. Seeing a goaltender stop a breakaway was refreshing. |

he did. mason did a very nice job tonight. the team in front of him (frank)ing sucks. it's not that there was zero effort...just not enough effort that materialized into much of anything useful. they're finished. - hammarby31
Agreed he played well.from a goaltending technical standpoint his play was very good but this is only 4 periods He needs more work on the some technical aspects but I see the intangible part of his game as more in need of improvement. |

I can't believe I actually looked forward to this game all day. What a (frank)ing letdown.

Understandable. Bryz was also terrible tonight. |

It was his first year as the captain. I think Giroux has been pretty good, all things considered. He didn't really have a healthy Scott Hartnell on the first line all year. Simmonds was good for awhile there, then he got hurt.
There are a lot of problems on this team, but I'm not sure Giroux is one of them. Holmgren needs to get him some help in the form of secondary scoring or Brayden Schenn needs to grow the hell up. |

I dont know if Mason is going to be the answer but theres no reason to not find out more about him in net for the rest of the season. |

Probably the only reason this team has looked half decent the last few weeks. |

I'm not into bashin bryz but I hate when he comes out and tries to play the pick its scary sometimes. Mason seems good with the puck |

you have obviously forgotten that they traded for Nabakov's rights at the draft but couldn't sign him. - mayorofangrytown
That was the in 2010. Bryzgalov was traded for in 2011.

Some random thoughts:
Thought Mason played pretty well overall, there is definitely some potential there.
Gustafsson just doesnt look like an NHL defenseman to me, Lauridsen maybe, but he's not ready yet.
Thought Huskins looked ok, I likevhim better than Gervais.
Lets all face it, this team has no chance to make the playoffs. With that in mind, they need to give Timonen some time off.
Hartnell continues to be a MAJOR disappointment.
Oh well, at least they have a high draftvpick to look forward to. |

first game on a new team in a "must win" ...he probably had some nerves. i thought he looked calm for the most part. made some big saves. handles the puck with confidence. he's big. i like what i see. |

I'd prefer a top 10 draft pick as opposed to a first round spanking in the playoffs. So that's my silver lining. |
