Howd you like to be an avs fan. If they didn't match calgarys offer sheet on ROR they would have gotten their 1st rounder right? That would have possibly been 2 out of top 3 or at least top 5 picks. - Just5
If Calgary had ROR, they might not be as bad either, though. |

My personal feeling is that the Flyers should play to the level of where the Goalie doesn't need to steal the game. If they have any prayer of making the playoffs. I don't know that a Goalie not stealing games is a reason not to play him. We also don't know what Mason is going to do in a game. - MJL
Actually my point was the complete opposite. That is, the fact that Bryz isn't stealing games is why going with Mason probably won't have any negative impact. |

Not much different at all. But you'd also up your own chances for a #1 (even though they have a great chance for it anyway) |

Meh, something like this always comes out with teams that are losing.
It's the most meaningless thing in the world if they're winning; and the most meaningful thing in the world if they're losing.
I'm sure Dater will have a field day with this. - bradleyc4
I'm sure he will. I'm also sure it would be the end of the world if Bryz ever said anything like this (although he has every right to imo).
I would love to see Bryz come out for his next post game interview with a big cigar and answer every question with "(frank) this mess, in a few weeks I'm goin' to Vegas baby!". |

Any of you think they offer Huskins a contract for next year?
What about Gagne? I swear in some games recently he looks like one of their best skaters.
I'm even wondering about Fedetenko lately. He seemed likely to leave at the deadline but his line has been getting some points lately.
He has been OK for the PK and solid defensively.

I think Homer will have conversations with all three. Real question will be price they want to stay. I'd like to keep them but with the cap dropping it begins to get difficult. And you never know what they'll get on the open market. Huskins prolly not much. But Gagne and Fedetenko? I bet they can still bring in decent money... |

I think the same, Ive definitely liked Huskins for what he has to do... I would easily take him back next year for cheap. We dont have many choices to go after in free agency.
Gagne, Id like back... I would be ok with Fedetenko leaving only so that the guys who sit behind me at the game will stop screaming "FedeSTINKO" over and over again... They are the type of guys that think all players on the ice must score a lot |

i'm not. he apparently played well in relief. they got him for a reason, and maybe lava is doing this as an equivalent to pulling the starting goalie in a game - to wake the team up because poop is on the line.

Going to the game and sitting right behind the flyers bench! Anything i should yell out to lavy? - Philly1980
You should make a sign that reads: Mason Builds Stone Walls!
And then yell to Lavi: try not to (frank) this goalie up! |

Makes sense to give him the first start on the road.
Less pressure for him then in Philly.
Although with Lavi I'm slightly surprised too. |

Flyers defenseman Marc-Andre Bourdon takes long view about resuming career
http://www.philly.com/phi...bout_resuming_career.html
Bourdon arrived back in Philadelphia last week to begin a strict regimen to try to strengthen his eyes, which doctors finally pinpointed as the root of his symptoms. He credits numerous visits over the months with noted concussion specialists - Dr. Ted Carrick in Atlanta, Dr. Micky Collins in Pittsburgh and Dr. Francois Chaput in Montreal - for reinstilling confidence in his body.
"My eyes are off," Bourdon explained. "I have lots of headaches. The good news is that my doctors tell me it's going to come back. My reflexes are there, but my eyesight is off. It's like rehabbing a knee, I need to rehab my eyes and get everything back to where it was."
Along the way, there have been plenty of scary moments and doubts. The headaches still happen. Bourdon tried skating for approximately 15 minutes a few weeks back in Adirondack and was quickly nauseated. He is increasing his time on the ice, slowly but surely working his way to a half hour.
....
Bourdon's contract shifts to a one-way deal next season, a sign of the promise and confidence the Flyers had in his audition last season. He says he'll be ready to play next fall.
