Gags will definitely take a pay cut. His production and playing time (because of health and production) are both way down from his prime. Something like $2 million per for 2 years would seem reasonable to me. Maybe something similar for Feds. And then we keep them together as a solid shut-down 3rd line with some offensive skill and special teams abilities.

Do they keep Hall?
I guess it depends on if Laughton is ready to some degree, although Hall can play wing or center it seems.

Would anyone notice?

I have selective multi-tasking abilities, so I'd notice. But the burning building? Probably not so much.

Rinaldo, Gusty and Lauridsen are all RFAs this summer too.

No reason not to give them all qualifying offers.

He'll almost certainly be invited to training camp...just have to see how it goes from there. Depending on college recruits, draft picks and the kids currently in the AHL, could be a serious crowd competing for spots next season.

it's generally a smart move to give a guy a contract based on 4 games of play. #huskins

Rinaldo has earned a 3 year deal I think.

Right, that's a best case. Gags is making $3.5 right now; I wouldn't give him more than $2.5 per.

Feds is making $1.75 right now. I'd try to keep him there, or maybe a little bump to keep him from taking another offer.

Why would you sign any Ufa then with that criteria?

I probably would never sign a free agent that didn't come from the bargain bin, tbh.

The Flyers have a lot of depth already for a 6/7 guy and they can be easily acquired. I probably wouldn't.

Although if he signs under 900,000 he's easily buried in the AHL and his cap hit would come off the books. So really it's a question of the price being right and what other D we get back. It's more likely if one of our top 6 gets traded. But I wouldn't be adverse to taking a look at him in training camp.

Well, he played 11 in Detroit and some of us have seen him play elsewhere. It's not like he's totally unknown aside from those 4 games.

At least he's under 35.

No skin off my nose if he isn't re-signed. Hopefully, Mesz and Coburn come back 100%.

Hes making 650k this year. I would think they could resign him to something like that. Pretty cheap

Well, it's one thing if a guy plays consistently the year prior to signing him, and another for him to be a healthy scratch and then play well in a small sample at the tail end of a contract year. That's called the Jody Shelley effect, although Steve Eminger was actually the first person it applied to.
