Reports are Grossmann is having vision issues. Sounds promising.
Add him to Meszaros who can't be counted on for next season. - PLindbergh31
I hope that's a double jinx there... I will be very upset if Grossmann isn't back for next season. |

I'm not saying he won't be back, but between the knees, and now the concussion issues, thinking he will stay healthy is fools gold. |

Nice. You have a permanent home brew setup? - wolfhounds
yup, its very easy
costs about $25 to make 5 gallons = 2 cases of beer
takes about 3 weeks after brew day to be ready to drink |
|

We have like 8 guys at work that home brew. It's awesome when we have beer parties and I get to sample their work |

I haven't seen anything about Grossmann having vision issues, just that h had a setback in his recovery, probably pushed too hard too soon. |

the latest trend is aging the beer in barrels, that can add flavor like with old bourbon barrels, or add different yeasts that live in the wood of the barrel to make "sour" lambic style ales
I haven't got any barrels yet, but I did set up kegging system
no messy bottles to fill/wash |

I'm no GM, but here's my potential fix to our problem....
Amnesty Bryz and Briere... Cap hit next year is down 11-12 million.
Trade 2nd rounder this year or 1st next year, along with any prospect not already in the NHL for Johnathon Bernier. Sign him for 3-4 per season...
Keep Timonen, Schenn, Grossman and I guess Coburn since I dont see how anyone wants him on the blue line. Mesz to the IR or trade block... Of FA's resign Gagne and maybe Feds.. along with our rfas Rinaldo and Gus...
Sign any damn defender not on our team or explore a trade in which we dangle Read, Laughton, Cousins (not Schenn or Coots)... Potentially when all said and done I think our lineup could look like this next year and I'd be happy with it...
Voracek-Giroux-Hartnell
Simmonds-Couterier-Schenn (Coots needs more quality minutes with offensively capable linemates)
Gagne-Talbot-Read
Feds-Laughton-Rinaldo
Timonen-Schenn
Grossman-(FA or Trade Defender)
Coburn-Gus
Bernier/Mason
Only issue I see is our D still but there simply is not any decent FA's this year so I think it may be best to wait a year rather than trade away a core player... Thoughts??? |

Today is beer brewing day here.
In the past I've named some after the Flyers, like Hartnell Down Porter, Pronger's Big Red Ale, and G Force Saison.
I think I'm going with "Lottery Pick Lager" for today's batch.
Feel free to substitute "Fire Lavi Lager" if you want. - Marc D
how about some duck ale in honor of Bryz |

so the general consensus is that we are buying out briere next season ? - MrBigglesworth
I only see 4 options for Briere...
1. He gets traded (doubtful with his NMC, the money he'd leave on the table, and his ties to the area) - 14%
2. He gets bought out. Takes the extra 3.3 million and signs someplace else at a more reasonable cap hit. 75%
3. He stays. And most fans begin calling for Homer's head. Briere was really, really bad this season. And his cap hit will leave Holmgren with his hands tied, upside down, under water trying to fix some of our issues in the off season. 10%
4. He gets shot by his ex-wife or retires and screws us on the cap hit. (A distant possibility). 1%

One guy is getting a couple barrels, but he's hardcore with his brewing.
He already does kegs. Good stuff. |

Pretty good john, I like that one. How about one of these:
Wellwood's Red Ale? - this is bad but still I found funny (heal well and get back to us soon kiddo)
Bryz's Dark Night Stout
Luke's Magnetic Visor Lager
C.G.P.A. - Captian Giroux's Pale Ale - FlyersGrace

It would be awesome if they could trade him for a pick. That'd be sweet |

I love the percentages.
I'd put he stays at 30%, no good reason why I think that. |

I think we have a higher chance of trading Briere than winning the lottery. That make you feel better? |

No. You're cherry-picking.
I want a leader. I want presence. I want someone who will do whatever it will take to get the win, who (frank)ing hates losing, who will call out his teammates and they will have no choice but to listen to him or pay the price. I want the player who can put the team on his back when needed. I want the leader who can make all those around him better, more confident just because he set skate to ice.
Giroux can be that guy - he did it in game 6 last year - but he isn't getting it done this season. - wolfhounds
those guys are so hard to find now adays it seems though. pronger types are a dying breed. although i will admit, for those couple of shifts, Giroux exuded that aura like a freaking fountain. |

I will chock it up to youth BUT the play by Schenn and Simmonds irked me because it just reaks of beer league play when a person is stuck in the D zone and when the puck finally leaves the zone they stay out cause they want time in the O zone. NO! you change and wait til next time. - nastyflyergirl
this. i hate my own team because of this. |
