Hey! That was a great trade by Stan!!
- DarthKane
It's my desk top background...It'll stay that way until the Hawks win the cup, or he makes a ballsy move. Until then, majestic steed riding Bowman awaits me....
I'm sure the apologist army will report your picture and McDonough will take away your 1 goal card.
According to Aaron Ward at TSN the Wings are close to signing Howard to a 6 year, $5.3 million per year contract. That's a crazy overpayment for Detroit.

The only way Olesz EVER suits up for the Hawks would be a rash of injuries. So lets leave the impending HOF career of "Olecz" down in Rockford where god willing he will continueo pass through waivers and some GM dumber then Stan will pick him up...Or Wirtz will wake up at 3 am in the morning in a cold sweat, realizing he's dropping 3.125 million a year on Olesz, and phone the Bowman household...and buys him out...some time this summer.
My personal summer hat trick:
1. Hawks win the cup
2. Hawks buy out Olesz
3. Hawks trade Bolland
That happens, I will immediately start construction on my roman-esq statue of Bowman, clothed of course, giving a huge thumbs up...sorta like the Buddy Christ statue....

Sounds like you are making a photoshop request for Darth
This has been what, 3 seasons now of finding reasons to bash Stalberg? Now the reason to let him walk is because he doesn't finish offensively. Last year it was because he was a defensive mistake waiting to happen and a big woosy.
Michael Frolik may have found a role on the PK he's good at but he couldn't finish a ham sandwich if you ate half of it for him. Stalberg can really make defenceman work hard in their own zone and they are very leery of him catching them cheating up ice in the offensive zone. And he is a big body, which Luca Sbisa found out when he stepped up to hit #25 in open ice.
If all it took to resign Stalberg was to give him Frolik's bloated contract, Baby Jagr would be on a plane back to Prague real fast. - RickJ
Agreed. I find the whole lack of finish thing kind of silly going back to when they put it on Brouwer too. The truth is, Stalberg's SH% is lower in part because his speed creates more opportunities often at top speed, which are very hard to finish. Stalberg is a very good player for this team.
Sort of like the shortstop in baseball whose range allows him to get to balls other players couldn't dream of getitng to, even if he can't field them all.

I like Frolik, but he is overpaid. As is Oduya. - John Jaeckel
Frolik and Oduya may be overpaid, but in your opinion is Stalberg worth overpaying for? I like Stalberg, he brings a lot to the team. But it he the time of player you shed other bodies for (i.e. to create cap space). Would you trade Bolland for picks in order to give Stalberg $4 million per season?
Right down the street from me (Damen and Chicago). Hellah cheap and all kinds of delicious. Great potato salad, amazing sausage, pierogis are killer. Ugh great place.
Hey, anyone know the start date for playoff hockey?
He signed an ATO with Rockford so I'd expect he'd play. But if McNeill and Danault are riding the pine then who the heck knows.
- DarthKane
With the 'Hogs still in the playoff hunt, I'm not going to be shocked if Danault, McNeill and Ross don't see much ice time. - EKolb13
Sometimes, it's all about getting them orientated. "Welcome to the organization", here's how you are gonna proceed, and watch these guys, they are your new teammates...learn form them, let's get you in a fitness program, here's what we are gonna work on with, etc.
....and maybe a taste if the schedule /race let's that happen.

Kasha's?
What? DOWN THE STREET from YOU?
I grew up at 1901 W. Superior St.
My father made a living pumping gas at the Standard station Damen and Superior, now condo's. (He was shot and killed in a robbery early one morning right after my Freshman year of high school ended in'65.)
I stood on the corner of Huron & Damen before every game, waiting for the older grown guys who had me as their apprentice in their season ticket plan...
Did we have this conversation on 300 level a few years ago, or are their more neighborhood guys?
It won't really matter anymore, the Wings won't be in our division next year.
If Howard gets $5.3 million what will Corey get when his contract is up? I know we're a long way from debating if he should be re-signed in the first place. But giving $5.3 to Howard could drive up the price of all free agent goalies.

I think 2.25 million per is a nice salary for Stalberg. He might be asking for $3 mil or more per and that could be a problem.

That seems completely outside the comfort level so many have heard about how the Wings operate.

If Crawford wants $5.3M let him walk! He won't find that anywhere else.

If Stalberg is willing to stay for $2.25 million per then sign me up! $3 million is getting pricey and would be the absolute max. $2.25 - $2.5 is fair in my opinion. That is a fair price range and wouldn't negatively impact the Hawks cap situation when Kane and Toews' contracts come up.
