Kasha's?
What? DOWN THE STREET from YOU?

I grew up at 1901 W. Superior St.

My father made a living pumping gas at the Standard station Damen and Superior, now condo's. (He was shot and killed in a robbery early one morning right after my Freshman year of high school ended in'65.)

I stood on the corner of Huron & Damen before every game, waiting for the older grown guys who had me as their apprentice in their season ticket plan...

Did we have this conversation on 300 level a few years ago, or are their more neighborhood guys?

- wiz1901

Didn't grow up there but was living down the street on Wolcott (couple doors down from Augusta). Use to go to Kasia's every once in a while.

Now that I'm up in the Detroit area, it's harder to find good Mexican food. Loved El Taco Veloz on Chicago. Everyone raves about La Pasadita but Veloz is better. Bonus - Late night on weekends they would have this guy, Mexican Elvis doing karaoke. Elvez!

That seems completely outside the comfort level so many have heard about how the Wings operate.

Thought the same thing.

We did not. I grew up in Lockport and moved to the area in October. I am a half block from Augusta and Noble.

I like the area. Pretty laid back, not too many hipsters or loud nutzo college kids, some solid bars easy L access. Between Augusta and Division over to at least Damen it looks like they are making a big rehab / reconstruction push which is a good sign.

Near Holy Trinity. Is it still there?

Good, he needs to play. I have no issue with Emery playing lots, or even being the 1A goalie but both goalies need to be ready for the playoffs (just in case).

Hope 29 and 25 stay at a fairly reasonable price. Bicks at $750,000/Stals at $2.5 tops
- philco28

You think Bick's would sign a contract for 750,000... I say no way in hell he would sign for that low a number!

Maybe...he signed for $540,000 and it's not like he's a 30 goal man now. Maybe a million tops. Shiiiiit...now i feel like Everett Dirksen.... and you can google him.

Not sure if everyone saw, but that Taylor Hall was front and center last night with another gutless cheap-artist play. Talk about a mental midget.

- prd797

Was at the Oilers game (you all remember, bad period 1, eventual loss) and I said then that Taylor Hall is a d-bag, so I'm not surprised to see this clip. His hit on Andrew Shaw that night was blatant and dirty and also was not called.

Interesting that practically everyone on the ice for the Coyotes but the goalie comes after Hall when the whistle blows. Can't see that happening with the Hawks, can any of you?

Come on man, there's Mexicantown right in Detroit - Bagley and Vernor Street area, not far from the bridge. Lovely part of Motown. Some good places to eat there actually.

You must be hob-knobbing it with rich guys up in Troy with your MacAllan's 25 year Scotch and membership at Oakland Hills or Birmingham Country Club.

You're probably right Philco. Just would like to see a little more grit out there for us. I know, I know broken record...

I wish I could say that I hope Hall grows up, but I really just don't like the kid, so I don't care enough to bother. Hope he behaves himself next time we meet though. I would hate to see any of our guys go down to a cheap shot like that.

PRD...you near that famous golf course where they play the British Open ?
- philco28

Well Phil the St Andrews Old Course (oldest golf course in the world) is about a 5 minute walk away from me, as is most places around here.

The whole area is incredibly beautiful and historic, and I love it.

And on occasion the Old Course makes for drawing famous folk to come and have a go. Saw Bill Murray and Michael Phelps out on the town, Bill Murray sang a few songs at an open mic night at one of my less frequented watering holes

4F...i hear ya bro on the grit...but we are what we are and we're still pretty damn good.

With Hall, he may be building this resume to build a rep and buy himself more space

I agree. That number is low. Personally, I think Bickell is worth about what Brookbank is getting. If Bickell wants more than $1.25 - $1.5 million per season, I say let him walk.

Kruger's chance. Sharp can always take draws if the kid starts to suffer.

I can see that 3rd line gel if Q let's them together long enough.

Shaw and carbomb on the 4th, can live with that fur sure too.

Yeah I'm pretty sure we've talked about this game before I think, I scored seats on the glass that game while in town. I remember Hall slashing Hjalmarsson up high and then scoring a goal while Hammer was struggling to get up. Same game as Carcillo's season-ending injury IIRC.

That's about what I was thinking. $1 million would double his salary. He's not doing anything that would scream he deserves more. Size can only get you so far...
