It's my desk top background...It'll stay that way until the Hawks win the cup, or he makes a ballsy move. Until then, majestic steed riding Bowman awaits me....

Coaches could also really do a better job of TEACHING AND DRILLING into players' heads what is and isn't a penalty.
Bolland and Kane to a lesser extent (this year) take too many dumb hooks and holds. - philco28
That's true. They are taking too many of those. I hate to say it and I'm going to get ripped on, but I think Toews does a lot, too. I see a Jordan Rules type thing with the superstars, especially Toews, Datsyuk, Zetterberg, and Kesler that they get away with a lot of hooks and holds. |

Congrats to the Detroit Tigers for being the first professional sports team to offer.......bacon on a stick at their concession stands.....my allegiance is now with the motor city.....for baseball. - UnnamedSource
How do they offer bacon on a stick? Is it just as simple as that or do they dress it up some how? |

I think Bicks will be lookin' at some real money, real soon. He's 27 and has developed into a reliable 2 way player, big bodied guy and in a full season his line looks pretty good.
16g 25a
I wouldn't be surprised if a club offers him 2.5M + per year for 3 or 4 years.
Look at the money being thrown around...I wouldn't be surprised at all. Although they are different players, and he's older, Joel Ward has similar production....
...and he was signed for 3M per.
I think it's unrealistic to think a 27 year old Bicks will take a Hawk friendly deal...this may be Bickell's best, and last opportunity for a hefty contract and I would expect him to pursue the best offer.
I would... - ArlingtonRob
I think Bick's will get a 2.5 offer, I think Stal will get a 3+and Let's hope we can keep Leddy when he get's a 3+ also... |

If Bickell gets $2.5 million per I doubt it will be here, he's not worth that much. Maybe $2.5 million over 2 years. |

Buffalo Trace is a real nice bourbon. Jefferson's "Very Small Batch" Bourbon is good if you can find it.
Bakers is good but it has some serious bite and is a bit more expensive.
Can't go wrong with most flavors of Jack though I cant stand the honey. - fattybeef
I like Makers Mark and Woodford Reserve...To tasty bourbons! |

No...guess not. Just curious though, figured they'd spruce it up a bit with some sort of garnish. But I agree, kudos them for the idea! |

Not saying your wrong, I just think those guys no where they can and can't get away with things. They are even more active when they know the refs have a blind spot. There's a reason Toews and Datsyuk take the puck away way more than anyone else. Its like faceoffs, being the best just means your the best at cheating |

Toews does lunge with his stick a lot when pursuing puck carriers, but he's usually careful not to latch on too much with the stick. He does it more to harass opponents, but will take the odd penalty doing it. And you're right...stars get away with a lot more than plugs do. |

Apparently the Oilers thread think Hall's slash was great. They admire him for "sticking up" for himself. What a bunch of d-bags. |

i'd guess that part of the reason for the short salary is that it covers the time period where the salary cap is going to be lower, at the end of 2 years, he's most likely going to be looking for Joel Ward esque money, which will be a reasonable get if the salary cap has grown.

I don't think Bickell will test the free agency waters,as long as the Hawks make him a fair offer. He likes Chicago and wants to stay, but he doesn't deserve a gouging. |

I agree. I think this will be a situation where the player wants to stay and the club wants to keep him and they'll meet in the middle. I could be totally wrong but looking at the situation from 1000 feet about that's what is looks like to me. |

I was just reading that. Those fans are pretty much Canucks fans, only their team stinks. Someone wrote, "this happens to Hall 2 or 3 times a game" and I spit out my coffee. I haven't seen that once this year. Hall is a d-bag and hope they become out rival so Toews and Kane can be the Jordan to his Knicks for years to come |
