Who's worse, Oilers fans or Canucks fans? I can honestly say that I don't know any Oilers fans.
- DarthKane

Once the Oilers become relevant we will find out.

Apparently the Oilers thread think Hall's slash was great. They admire him for "sticking up" for himself. What a bunch of d-bags.
- Ogilthorpe2

(frank) the Oilers too. By now they should be as good as the 2008-2009 Blackhawks. They suck. They are going to miss the playoffs again ! They are way behind in development, I guess all those #1 overall picks has a lot of spoiled brats in the room.

Oh well .

Hopefully the Hawks stay healthy sans Bolland the rest of the way.

So Taylor Hall doesn't even receive a hearing?!?

Joke.

I'm thrilled that team is sinking in the west...would luv to see the Hawks bury them when they travel west in a week or so.

I still loathe that team for the 80's...

Shanahan is a complete joke. This whole "the player wasn't injured so I won't review it" nonsense is, well, nonsense.

Same thing on the Nash hit on Kopecky. And yet Shaw gets suspended for running into a completely fine Mike Smith? B...S...

Can you believe that if the Wild beat the Blues tonight the Hawks clinch the central division?

I think Bolland would look great in an Islander sweater.

Please make it happen Stan...please.

The player might not have been injured from the slash, but the INTENT to injure was there.

If the league wishes to reduce injuries resulting from dangerous plays, suspensions and/or fines for 2 handed tomahawk slashes to the back of legs would be fine place to start.

Someone is going to take a run at Hall and concuss him into the next decade...then Shanahan will do something. Since we all know concussions are bad, and debilitating leg injuries OK.

Joke.

We want Bolland healthy.....if he is a 100% or close the Hawks will do better in the play offs. I think if there is chemistry found between 10-88-16 and Bolland is dropped down to where he is more comfortable on the 3 between 25 & 29 good things will happen.........and the better he plays the more of a return we will get when he is traded in the off season. Bolland has always been a post season player and that theory will be tested this year but no one can argue a healthy Bolland will help the Hawks go much farther this post season.

I hadn't put that much thought into it, but picks and prospects would be fine by me.

We agree on most things unnamed, but I'm done with Bolland. The guy can't stay healthy anymore and isn't that useful when on the ice. I've moved on, just hope Q has as well.

Then again, if he does produce in the post season his value increases.

Time will tell...

Touche, I wasn't aware LA had such an establishment.

For me I think that the Winter Classic should be a special occurrence...won't happen if they have several WC-type games every year.

I don't think Bickell will test the free agency waters,as long as the Hawks make him a fair offer. He likes Chicago and wants to stay, but he doesn't deserve a gouging.
- eagle50

Fair offer is JJ's 1.3-1.5MM - someone offers him $2.0MM and the Hawks stay at $1.5 - he's gone.

Half-million per year to someone who's "only" been making half-million per year - that's a lot of money.

You can still be done with Bolland and want him healthy and performing well. You can't argue if he is healthy and returns to form it bolds well for the hawks in the post season and a better return when he is traded in the off season.

He only gets the extra $ if he holds out.If the team is fair he may not push the issue.I like to think that there are still the odd person out there who are not driven "strictly by money".

Count me as someone who's all for that.

Or maybe we could try to pry Matthias away as part of a deal for Bolland?

Sticking up for himself? I didn't see the whole game and maybe there was some extracurricular garbage that precipitated what happened but the clip I saw, Michalek didn't do anything and had his back to Hall when he decided to tomahawk the back of Michalek's leg. Like I said earlier, he's building quite a resume. Dbag indeed!
