Nice try to pick and choose what I posted....If Bolig and Carcilo are hitting and benig physical, then yes, I don't see a need. I also said I HIGHLY DOUBT it happens, but I would entertain it.

There are a lot of players on the bench, Kompon can't get them all.

You didn't answer my question...didn't Carcillo play with Hossa and Kane last year? Wasn't Carcillo on the top line to start this year? Didn't Carcillo get some time on the 2nd line this past weekend?

Yes...You need somebody to go grind in the corners. A 1 armed sharp can't do it...Kane can't do it....YOu need space for Kane to be effective, and putting Carcillo there, gives him space.

Handzus is a better PK player then Kruger for 1 reason alone....He will win the draw, and clear the zone...knocking off a good 20+ seconds. Kruger, like Bolland, is horrible at draws.

You are going to need size in the playoffs...or haven't you watched the past 2 years when the flamed out in the 1st round...

- SteveRain

Sure he did but didn't any of those teams win a cup? Carcillo can fill a role and he adds depth and sure he can play up and down each line but do you take out Kruger for him....no. Do you take out Shaw for him......no. Do you take out Frolik for him no.......Do you take out Bolland for him.........no. Carcillo is fine as a spot started in the post season as he was in Philly. You have to look at two ways......1- Do you want Carcillo out there the last two minutes of a tied game 7 over any of the other guys I just mentioned and if there pp is going to suck in the post season like it has in the play offs you need your PK to be that much more dominant, Handzus will help but would any team take out Krugman for Handzus on a PK.....don't think so......who is your best PK'er......Krugman hands down.

games like last night cement why he'll be the odd man out after this year. love the speed and the way he's improved his overall game, however, he just...doesnt...finish.

at the same time you see the other option (in regards to where the money could go) in Leddy making more and more things happen AND looking stronger on D.

no question how to use that money now.

- dr_boloney

Really...you're criticizing Stalberg for having the puck all night and not finishing, in a game where the ALL Hawks had the puck all night and didn't finish. One unassisted goal between 2 teams, plus solid goal tending on both sides.

I guess that's a good sign when fans need to dig this deep to criticize a team with the NHL's best record.

Did you not say that???? I'm confused????

The Blackhawks are who they are.......trying to make them something they are not is a foolish thing to do right before the play offs.

It's true though. This is a darn good team. If they want to be Patrick Kane fancy 4 on 1, they won't win. They play circle jerk in their own zone, they won't win. If they are determined to do the tough things that help win games they can win. As much as people say these other physical teams can run the Hawks out of the building, it can only happen if the Hawks allow it to. Look back at the series against Van. a few years ago The first three games looked like the Hawks were going to get swept and buried. They came back and tied the series at 3 each because they finally decided not to take it anymore. If the Hawks play their game they will be in good shape Well stated, I remember game 4 of that series. Hawks stared to back up the D by late dump in`s then getting to them first, this backed the up to where they gave us the blueline. game was over so where the next three games, Van. cracked under the pressure of "what if". Hawks challanged themselves as A TEAM went out there and made it happen. Mental tuffness says "That`s mine and you are in my way!" Alot of talent didn`t hurt either. Wiz pointed out about Shawzy how he got here so perfectly, comittement ,desire work ethic lots of players have but the seperation comes from from w/in "the veins" he put it. The joy of playing & confidence a player has is priceless, winners think on how to win one moment @ a time. Tazer is a great example, all things done to the best of his ability ALL the time RELENTLESS. That Mr. Van man is what your team needs.

Shaw got complacent and was dropped to line 4. If he plays with an edge, and is agitating he's OK. If he's non existent in those departments, he's worthless. He gets tossed around the rink like a rag doll...

Frolik is a damn good PK guy....That's debatable between him and Kruger. Carcillo should never be on the ice in a tied game. My point is, he's versatile enough that he can play a top 6 spot, or crash on the bottom half.

It's going to be interesting to see how this progresses. Especially, if that 3rd line continues to play well....Bolland may go back to line 2, which is my biggest fear as I think Kane and Sharp will suffer...greatly if that happens.

Pretty Deep Line-up

Calling up Olesz gives the hawks another player that can make a difference.

The Lines should be:

20-19-81
65-10-88
29-36-25
16-26-67

Fair enough...but i'll take Car Bomb's 300+ NHL games experience to Bollig's 30+...especially in the playoffs.

Bollig's turned himself into a decent player and is a good enforcer, but Carcillo even with bad knees, is a far better skater and in the playoffs....skate/shoot/pass...knock 'em on their a s s.

- philco28

His skating has been meh. His shot is not very good and I don't think he is a good passer by any stretch of the imagination.

Pretty much every time he has touched the puck the last two games has played it has ended up on the defender's stick who is standing in front of him. The exception being that one one timer.

The bonked knees are a valid reason why his skating and timing is off but if that is the case he should not see the ice in the playoffs. Past the point of playing himself into shape IMO and they have guys with considerably more upside waiting to fill that 6-8 minute energy role that the 4th line will be reduced to come the playoffs.

My point is and has been...you are who you are. Playing Carcillo and Bollig more will not make this team better. Trying to suddenly become more physical will do more harm than good in the play offs. Go with your strengths and see where the chips fall.....just get better on the power play.

......and no Olesz will not improve this teams chances come play off time.....just want to throw that in there.

If Stalberg could learn a power forward move, coming in off the off wing, he'd be a 30 a year goal scorer. No joke...that's how fast he is....His hands in tight and his finish are maddening.......
- SteveRain

If he learned that then he would be Rick Nash #2 and somebody would pay him $7M per year.

If the Hawks are who they are, well Bollig and Carcillo have been on this team all year. Both have played plenty. They must see a reason for these two to be on this team. We will see when the playoffs come around who lines up. I think Q uses them in certain series, but not others. If we play Detroit, not much of a reason to play them. We play some of the bigger teams, I think you will see at least one of them out there.
