nowhere did i read that he says he WILL be bought out in the full interview from the courier post. - hammarby31
He hinted strongly at it, saying he knows "It's reality." So no, he didn't come out and say, "I'm getting bought out," but he came about as close as you can. |

Re Briere: Great guy, good player, but I can't see any way he doesn't get amnestied after the season. Even if Bryz gets bought out the Flyers would still have the following:
Goal
Mason 1.5 million
D
Timonen 6 million
Coburn 4.5 mil
Mez 4.0 mil
Grossmann 3.5 mil
Schenn 3.6 mil
Gervais 825k
Forwards
Giroux 3.75 mil
Voracek 4.25 mil
Hartnell 4.75 mil
Schenn 3.1 mil
Simmonds 3.975 mil
Couturier 1.35 mil
Read 900k
Talbot 1.75 mil
Dead space due to previous buyout 100k
So with 1 goalie, 6 defenseman and 8 forwards you are at 50.85 mil which leaves only 13.55 mil to add a goalie, a defenseman and 5 or six forwards.

I don't hate the game but some of the players bother me. The Lebron DECISION thing aired on ESPN was awful. I thoroughly enjoy NCAA basketball, even not during March Madness. - GirouxForTheShow

I enjoy the sport of basketball, especially at the high school and college level. However the NBA is much more about glitz, celebrity and ego than the actual sport and I just find it really hard to watch. |

They should let the agents for the players come out before the game, at half time and after it's over to talk smack about players on the other teams. That would make it more awesome. |

It would have been nice if they started that run a couple of months ago. Hard to do with only 1 winning streak of 3 or more games |

When is the buyout period again?
Any chance the Flyers try to trade Briere before that period begins? |

See the thing with Briere is has the organization really helped him? In his time here he has done a lot of good work, and when they signed him they fully knew he came with d-game questions.
This season in particular Briere was either supposed to play with Giroux, or on a line of Schenn/Simmonds. Both pairings make the team weak defensively. You can put Briere on the wing but he has struggled there chronically.
If the time will come to buy him out so be it, but I dont think he was used properly here too often. Or how he would fit into the team, and how in turn his linemates would help him. I'll miss the little guy. |

The forwards are easy and cheap. Laughton, Hall, McGinn, Rinaldo and Gagne should cost $6 million all together.

Weird decision, as it would be a nice time to see what Mason can bring but maybe they want to shield him a bit and give him a full summer with Reese.

June 15th-30th. Doubtful they find a taker.
Most of the teams that he'd agree to accept a trade to probably would be interested in him only if it was as a playoff rental or if the Flyers agreed to eat some money |
