On a side note, I thought it was humorous watching the reporters around Bryzgalof when he addressed the sleeping rumour post game.
“You know guys, to be honest, I don’t know where you get this information,” Bryzgalov replied. “Be honest, did you read yourself what you wrote? That’s embarrassing. You have to prove your sources.
“That was never happening. You became not professional journalist. It’s embarrassing, seriously. You’ve got to do your job better.
“I’m only pointing at guys who were involved in this because it’s really embarrassing and you have to be better. Step up, guys. Prove your information, find a reliable source.”
Frankie was standing right behind him. I was hoping he'd speak up and ask a follow up question be he was the usual reporter type rat and just stood there. |

So I have been off the grid this week due to some personal stuff, but did I see something about a whistleblower in the locker room? Someone leaking stuff out? - jak521
It's either that, o the media has literally fabricated a story to (frank) with Bryzgalov. |

I made mention of this last night, they're just not a good puck possession team. They rarely keep sustained pressure in the offense zone, badly beaten in the neutral and are often pinned inside their own zone.
Too many passengers, not enough drivers up front.
Having a solid puck-moving defenseman would be a start. - bradleyc4
bingo. IOW, they suck, and they're boring to boot.
the breakaway goal last night on the PK at the end of the game is just so......ugh...preposterous. how does that happen?
and lava gave hartnell way more ice than i thought he deserved. he was on the ice a ton at the end of the game...just awful.
this season can't end quickly enough.
i'm intrigued by this straka character....

Honestly, I don't care
Voracek - 40 GP 17-22-39
Carter - 41 GP 24-5-29
Richards 40 GP 10-18-28
Simmonds - 37 GP 12-13-25
Schenn - 39 GP 7-15-22
Couturier - 38 GP 3-9-12 - nastyflyergirl
I don't care, either. I also don't have venom towards them.
I stated a fact - they are doing well in LA. That fact does not take anything from the Flyers stats you listed. |

I wish he was as awe inspiring on the ice as he is with a microphone in front of his face because he's a superstar when he speaks his mind.

best was Frankie's line in the original article:
Laviolette was responding to the question he was asked. However, he was not asked directly if Bryzgalov appeared to be sleeping.

I can't imagine the media making this up, but I can see a scenario where a teammate sells out a guy he doesn't like.
I tend to side more with what Knuble said when he mentioned the meetings are too short for anyone to fall asleep and the whole thing was a misunderstanding. |

Yeah, but IIRC (and I rarely do), they let him walk because he was too one-dimensional/similar to Straka. |

For a couple of our d-men, this is a go-to move. - johndewar
It sort of a last resort move though, not something you do because it is a good defensive move, it's a desperation attempt to break up an odd man rush or catch a guy on a breakaway |

well I guess they only have to give up a 4th rounder for Gagne now. I wish they would have moved Fedotenko and Gagne for picks at the deadline. but as it stands they do have their first 3 picks. |

That's no small feat for this franchise.
Maybe they'll get a flow of talent from the farm going forward. |

I saw the interview and to be honest it did seem like Laviolette left him hanging rather than just say he wasn't asleep. He talked around a direct response no matter the question. He could have just squashed it and didn't take the opportunity. |

This is just beyond sad.......How do you give up a breakaway on PK?! I was flabbergasted and hammered at that point. In order to watch Flyers play you have to be drunk, so I made it into a game:
1 shot for a Goal Against 2 shots if it was a weak goal
1 shot for a dumb penalty by Hartnell
2 shots for each breakaway against Philly
3 shots for an own goal
1 shot for every time a defenceman was sliding on the ice on his stomach
1 shot for every time Gervais left his man on the rush
2 shots for every PP flyers finish without a shot on goal
So there was 6 shots for breakaways and 3 for goals. It was the 1st time I had drank in a while so I was plastered after the 1st - xShoot4WarAmpsx
Wine is fine but whiskey's quicker, suicide is slow with liquor. Taking a bottle to drown your sorrows (especially in this case) will only flood away brighter tommorows my friend. But stay thirsty otherwise.

well one (Ranford) was a 7th rounder, 209 overall and one was a 2nd rounder, 55th overall. all it cost them is money so its worth the stab. Lets see what Murray can do as far as shaping him into a more rounded player. I love seeing the Flyers add speed and skill in the organization. its very much needed.
same with Flanahan. low risk, high reward. |

That and he was pretty inconsistent putting up points. His totals at the end of the season looked good but he scored heavily some months and then all but disappeared in others.
He's ripping it up right now in the playoffs. |

Neither of those guys are asked to do in LA what they were asked to do here (i.e.--be the face/leaders of the franchise). Good for them for their success, but don't go thinking that they would have enjoyed the same success here as I don't think that would have been the case. - johndewar
And Giroux wouldnt be asked to be doing the same thing he is now....Carter and Richards trade changed the team dynamic for all the hate Carter got dude is a sniper. Whats he got 24 goals on this season? I just dont think this team got that much better with that trade, younger yes better jury is still out. Like i said I like Simmer, and Jake jury is still out on B Schenn and Couts. |
