On the contrary, Knuble sets an example of professionalism and playing each shift like it means something. He deserves to play.
Let me ask you this: How much did Rosehill dressing in the last game deter Chris Neil from running around at the Flyers' skill players? McGinn is with the Phantoms. - bmeltzer

Schenn is turning into a stud. Only 23 years old.... He is the only Flyers player who gets a lot of ice time and is a plus player. Leads in hits, block shots - Winning
His development this year and Jake's and Simmer's play have been the bright spots. That's slim pickin's |

While I agree with you here, the flip side of the argument is that some of it is out of respect for Danny, and you also preserve some glimmer of hope of being able to trade him during the summer if he comes back and plays fine/well. His real salary plummets after this season -- believe it or not, his trade value is actually going to go up a bit. - Tomahawk
I don't know how or why Danny would accept a trade. He's going to force the flyers to buy him out. |

How the (frank) in the world can they play briere? if he's hurt, like a concussion that lingers, their whole off season is screwed. am i missing something? they hold out players on the trading block, why not danny? maybe i don't understand the amnesty rules.... - isaiah520
They hold out a player when a trade is imminent. He's healthy and ready to play, so he plays. |

As far as a bright future. I see them at best in the middle of the pack in the NHL. Nothing real special - Just5
In terms of potential for the future, I couldn't disagree more. If what you're seeing is accurate, well then the Flyers better make wholesale changes and start over. |

Bottom line this sucks. Not getting into the playoffs just sucks. Once in anything can happen.
I remember trying to get tickets and planning to drive to my in laws in Buffalo to see their first game up there. So much excitement for the season starting, boy did that change quickly.

I like your argument until I remembered that he has a NMC and doesn't sound like he wants to go anywhere. |

There are a lot of pieces....but after this debacle, there are an awful lot of questions, this team regressed badly....I was more sold on the Richards-Cater-JVR nucleus , and yet after one bad year, he blew it up.....and eventually gave JVR away for a #4 d man... - landros 2
The questions are really about a few positions. rebuilding the defense. And deciding how they're going to handle the Bryzgalov situation. Other then that, the roster just needs some tweaking as far as the forwards are concerned. The biggest issue is fixing how they play as a team collectively. The talent base is there, and it is strong. |

I took as play the kids...get some experience and lose, so we get a better pick. Knuble can show that professionalism at practice.....we're talkin practice

In my opinion, they aren't this bad. A few key moves, and their right back at it next year. The future of this team is still very, very bright. - MJL

Better question is why dress Briere? Why risk reinjuring a player who will be bought out after the season? |

Let me just put this out there. If Briere is adamant about staying, ie, not being traded or bought out, I can see him coming down with "concussion symptoms" after the last game of the season. |

I say it both in jest and in earnest. He's had his finger on the pulse when it comes to Flyers injuries, but he also had that big fabrication recently (i.e. the Crosby thing). |

I'm saying I won't be surprised AT ALL if he came down with some "injury" after the last game of the season or his last game of the season whichever happens first. |

Thats ridiculous, first off Briere has way too much class to pull a stunt like that, and secondly, its in his best financial interest to take a buyout anyway
Without a buyout, he makes 5 million over the next 2 seasons
With a buyout he makes roughly 3.3 million over the next 4 seasons and can sign as a free agent anywhere he wants. I can easily see him getting a 2 year 6 million dollar deal or more, so do the math. |
