Then they have the worst luck in all of the NHL. This isn't just this season.
They love to go after these kind of players, and continue to employ them even after injury questions continue to arise. As good as Grossman has been there were questions about injuries before his arrival, Timonen is still continued to be counted on as an iron man, Briere has had a good number of injuries ever since his arrival. Gagne has been healthy this season, but does anyone expect that next year?
Brayden Schenn already should have some question marks sorrounding his health but it will come as a huge schock if he goes down with a long term concussion. Same with Simmonds. Same with Giroux. Read.
I dont buy this whole, its all just bad luck thing anymore. This is a trend, and I'd be weary tying all the hopes of a franchise into players that do have injury questions. Every team does but not to this extent.
Yet parts of the fanbase are then suprised when the team is continously facing years with high amounts of injuries. - flyer_nutter
I don't know where to even begin here. Brayden Schenn after 100 or so games, should have question marks surrounding his health? There's no basis for that statement. He took a shot to the foot last Season, and broke his foot. And he had a mild concussion. He has missed one game this Season due to a suspsension
Since he became a full time NHL player, Giroux has missed 5 games in 4 Seasons.
Wayne Simmonds has missed 9 games in 5 NHL Seasons.
Read missed 3 games last year, and 7 this year. He has played 2 NHL Season.
he had a burr in his saddle as someone said earlier - Marc D
I was stuck with the Sabres radio feed, and they mentioned he had been yapping with Ott since the pre-game skate.
I did hear that he took the one undisciplined penalty, but overall, he's been pretty solid. I'd have him spend the summer working with Laura Stamm or Barbara Underhill or Robbie Glantz. Get him with a good skating instructor and make him a strong skater with his size and he'll be a really solid guy on anyone's blueline

They have one of the highest payrolls in hockey yet are missing the playoffs. There's no way he doesn't and if he stays I know I'll be pretty pissed. - JoeRussomanno
homer is going to go out and get two puck moving defenseman to pair up with the less mobile guys and let lavi try his attack style for another season - Marc D

he had a couple of hard shots on net too
he could turn into a keeper, who knows
They dont do it on purpose. They choose to ignore the fact, then wonder why the team is continously facing injury questions.
Simmonds, Giroux, Brayden Schenn, Read and Grossman have all had a decent number of injuries, and serious one's. Yet its going to be just bad luck when one goes down for a longer period of time yet again.
Let's run and re-sign Gagne ignoring the fact that its just as likely he will be out long term yet again. Put some much resposability on Timonen when he is obviously breaking down.
It is what it is at this point, and the Flyers may not be able to find better, but injuries shouldnt suprise anyone. Thats the point of all this. - flyer_nutter
Have they re-signed Gagne yet? You're really not making much of a point.
but is there any info on this Nikita Zaitsev they supposedly gave a contract offer to? - the deaninator
Flyers are denying the report (but that's par for the course until a team signs a player). Saw Zaitsev play once this season in a webcasted KHL game I covered during the lockout; not much of a sample, although he happened to score a goal in that game (vs. SKA). The one thing that stood out about him was that he was a good skater.

The Flyers tried that right handed defenseman bullpoop this year and they missed the playoffs...I'd say we're finished doing that

There seems to be a very real chance that Malkin will be held out of tonight's game because of severe sunburn. Warmups could be revealing.
