The way they used him this year he would of been better off playing with the Phantoms and centering the first line. - stveshdy
Possibly. From what Bill has written-and some of the Phantoms beats-he looked a bit bored there. I just see no reason why he wasn't more to do here.

I think they tried to get him more minutes at the beginning
he was on the 2nd PP unit to start the season and was not working out
As soon as they traded for Gagne I would have loved to see Couts play with Gagne on his left wing the rest of the season
I think if the re- up Gagne that Couts between Gagne and Talbot as the third line would be ideal for nest year.
Or put him on a line with Read and B Schenn and see how that works.
I am certain he will be moved off that 4th line next year. |

zaytsev? i read old reviews about him from 2010...what's the chances they get him and what kind of plyr is he now? - isaiah520
Puck mover primarily. His offensive game came along this season, and he played in all game situations on a so-so team.

Haven't seen enough of him firsthand to judge. But he plays on the top pairing of his KHL club and is alternate captain at age 21. |

the fact that he gave up on bob so fast, and buries their top draft pick form last year on the 4th line is more than enough to fire him imo.
and that's not even discussing his coaching performance this year. |

Couturier has some work to do. The last thing he should "look" is bored where ever he is playing. I do agree that he needs a bigger role next year. It will be his third NHL season and its time to let him grow. |

no question. he didn't look any stronger this yr and he still has skating issues like balance and his first few strides. |

Yup. He definately needs to improve. He doesnt seem to have a burst and your right about him not looking any stronger. |

He's 20 years old. He has been a key player on the Pk. Matched up against top lines and top players. How has he not earned it? He's done a lot of the dirty work for this team, and a 19, 20 year old. |

homer is as much responsible for this cluster(frank), but i expect lavi to get canned and deservedly so. |

He does have to earn it but he would probably be better if he played with more skill on his wings. |

I don't see skating issues with Couturier. He's not a speedster, and he's never going to be. But his skating is fine in my opinion.

The talent that Holmgren put on this team was good enough to be a playoff team.

I just get this feeling that the Flyers give Lavi another year. This team had alot of injuries and he wasnt able to play his style with what he had.
It is his job to adjust to his personnel but this team lost more talent then they brought in during the summer. |

rotten mix on d, traded away 1 too many scorers and had no viable plan to b/u bryz. earned a solid D-. |

i could have made the schematic changes necessary. i think he's run his course here...i'd can them both, but i've been fed up w/ homer's desultory approach for a while. |
