Who say they aren't doing what is best for the team? I don't see a problem with playing Briere.
- MJL

The guy is healthy then he should play. Hes the best option coming back to the lineup.

My guess is that he's playing for his next contract.

If he plays well, shows no ill effects of his last issue, it'll open up interest to more teams who may like to sign him if (when) he's bought out. Fewer teams would want to chance paying decent money on a player shut down since the TD because of concussion complications.

I have to admit, though, it is curious why the Flyers would even want him on the ice at this point if they have no plans going forward with Danny after this season. I'd give his ice time to a younger player. Perhaps, bring up a different Phantom for two games apiece and give them a taste.

Most teams are going to ice their best players until that changes.

I agree the chances are slim to none at making the playoffs.

The Flyers probably feel they are a better team with Briere in the lineup than using different players from the Phantoms.

And Slim was seen getting on a Greyhound at 8th and Filbert headed out of town about two weeks ago.

Actually the Flyers were making a push before they started another downslide last Saturday at Winnipeg.

Most if not all and other teams have to be counted on as well.

We will almost certainly not be in the dance this year.

Does it matter if they make the playoffs or not? The blueline is filled with too many question marks. Take Schenn and Timonen out it gets ugly.

Gus, Gervais, Lauridsen, Huskins. Thats not looking too hot.

Don't you know, he's clearly going to get Prongered.

If anything, putting Briere back in will boost our lotto odds. Stop complaining people.

If they are planning to buy him out, which they already know. It isn't in the teams's best interest to play him. They aren't making the playoffs and need to plan for next year. Play McGinn or someone else that might have a future as a Flyer. Good soldier or not If Briere isn't in Homer's plans for the future he shouldn't be playing.
