Not trying to troll here, just genuinely curious what the reaction in Philly's been like re:Bobrovsky being given away last summer. This appears to be GM malpractice but in not sure how much rope Homer has in Philly. - jacketsfan0649
we did get a 2nd for bob, but obvi the flyers legendary impatience might have burned them this time. i say might, because if we are to be objective, i would wait a full season before i anointed bob as the one that got away. don't get me wrong, we all saw the flashes of elite skill level w/ him, but he had issues that needed some time and patience w/ before he reached his full potential.
he's bigger in net than he has been and he's handling pucks at his feet much better to go along w/ his superior reflexes. we all liked bob's work ethic and no excuses attitude towards his job and most of us will always root for him...when he's not playing us.
homer has done enuf for me to can him, but he has a very high standing in the eyes of flyers owner ed snider |

If they are picking at 4 or 5, and he's there, they can't pass him up for Nurse or Ristolainen. - Jsaquella
neither one of them is dougie and we are likely parting w/ one of our young centers, so it makes sense. |

This is exactly why I don't expect Holmgren to be fired. |

Actually, Nurse could be as good as Hamilton. He's just more raw, might not be ready for the NHL as quickly, but could end up being better in the long run. The downside is, he's a project, will take a few years in all probability.

I don't expect it because Snider's said he won't be. The one thing about Snider is, when he says something, he generally means it. |

I didn't realize he won a Vezina before he was traded?

Do the Flyers have the 4th rd pick from the BOB trade or did that go to LA? |

I was all about the Flyers going after a proven goalie like Bryzgalov. What I didn't like was the length of the contract. Holmgren made a mistake with that deal. I understand he was trying to work the cap hit but its just not a smart decision. |

It's possible. The Flyers have options.
It's amazing that they have struggled to score lately with the talent thats on this team.
The blueline is my main concern for next season. |

Guy Boucher or Lindy Ruff, without question, would be great options.
My vote is for Marlies coach Dallas Eakins, personally |

My top choice was already snagged, Jon Cooper. Other guys who have never been NHL head coaches that I'd like to see interviewed would be Dallas Eakins, Steve Spott, Mike Haviland and Greg Ireland. Of coaches who have experience, I'd be open to Guy Boucher, Tom Renney or Craig MacTavish.
There's also two guys who have jobs that could be fired in Peter Deboer and Kevin Dineen, who I'd be willing to see come in. |

Don't you guys need defenseman?
The Flyers need to upgrade the blueline so not sure you can give the Flyers that. |

Doubt Hartnell would waive his NTC, but I'd want Jeff Petry |

We need a true two-way defenseman, but we also need big pesky wingers.
Something surrounding Nick Schultz and Hartnell perhaps... |

There was a rumour that he was prepared to waive to go to Edmonton a couple years ago in the nixed Souray deal. Although since then he's re-upped and kinda become part of the fabric in Philly.
I was only thinking in terms of cap considerations, if he was on his way out anyway. |

The reasons I'd really be open to moving him are two fold, but the big one is his contract extension. The other one is, if he can bring in a defenseman, then they might not have to trade a younger forward to get one |
