The flaws I saw in Carter were mainly that he had tunnel vision and didnt pass the puck enough and he had tedency to float and not play hard consistently. Helluva player when he was on though and has a sweet wrist shot.

Regardless, I think the organization needs to bring in a journeyman of lower salary/expectations, meanwhile groom a prospect. I'm not second guessing the decision to sign Ilya but the contract was a tad too generous. It's not too late for him and the team to salvage this, but will they? He's capable of playing better. In fact he's better than leightin and Boucher yet we got to game 6 of a finals with them. If this offseason they can get the same quality tender for a cheaper price then by all means pull the trigger. If they can get a better tender, then by all means, again pull the trigger. After a year like this nobody should feel safe.
