My thoughts are with you Boston. As a former Boston Marathoner, I know the feeling of seeing the finish line when you turn up Boylston...years of training to qualify and train for one moment come into unison for a perfect moment.
Sad that anyone would rip that away from someone and their friends and family. Visiting Boston multiple times, I know you're all a tough bunch, and am absolutely certain you'll get through this. |

Good blog Ty. I couldn't believe when I heard the news yesterday, I was grateful to know my neighbors who have gone in the past to run in the marathon where not there. I was talking to my sister last night and she told me that when they heard about it on the news that they were getting eye witness reports from our cousin who was there. I am also very grateful to know he is fine as well. I found this just a bit ago of my cousin giving updates over the phone and at one point he hears the explosion that happened at the library, very surreal!!!

might not seem like much but the outpouring of kind words from the HB community is really nice to see, makes this surreal day a bit better. If anyone is interested they are hosting a blood drive at Suffolk university in Boston to help the victims. |

I've never been, but i've always wanted to. Like the team, I'll have to make sure I come down for a visit, maybe take in a game. |

I don't really understand this rough and tough mentality people talk about..

Great blog Ty! Why is my office so damn dusty? I put this on Ek's thread but I wanted to be here to:
The support and kind thoughts on this site, and all around the NHL are unbelievable and truly remarkable. A simple thank you is not enough to repay it. This just shows that no matter what team you root for... Hockey people always step up, because we are the best people.
Thank you! THANK YOU 1,000 TIMES! |

good stuff Ty... I live about 15 minutes from where this disaster took place.. Been up and down boylston st many times over my time on earth. Know the area well. I am one of those naive people that think it can't happen here!!! well it did happen here. Horrifc.. As i drove home on a destered mass pike about 4 last night right after it happened it made me realize once again anything can happen at anytime. So th enext time I get riled up over a hockey game or because someone cut me off.. in the grand scheme of things it means nothing |

"It hasn’t processed, and I’m not sure when it all will.
It’s just the thought of it all -- Why? Why the Boston Marathon?"
that's where I am now too, I love Boston, I'm in there all the time, just cant wrap my head around this. This transcends sports, and all the kind words from everyone who like nothing more to see Boston teams lose is heart warming. Knowing how much worse it could have been is scary. |

My wife and I lived in Boston a few years ago, two blocks from where this took place. It looks like the second blast occured directly in front of my wife's old office building.
We loved Boston. We love Boston. We will always love Boston. Cowardly douchebags will not change that.
I look forward to returning to all our favourite spots. I look forward to taking my kids (again and again) to all the spots that makes it such a fun town. I look forward to drinking beer on patios on Boylston and Newbury and in the South End and on Canal and just about everywhere else.
And I look forward to starting my training program again, as I will once again try to qualify for the Boston Marathon. No cowards will change my desire to run in the world's greatest marathon.
Stay strong, Beantown.
I know you will. |

Pulling for you guys in the east....Horrible to read about a family like the martins where a dad loses a son (8), his daughter (6) loses a leg, and his wife has a serious brain injury.
A gutless act by a coward.... |
