Maybe he finds his game now that he's in a place where he has no pressure - Yosimar89
Well he is in a bit of a lower pressure position right now, that can change real fast. I mean he's still not really expected to do much and not on the big contract. But I think he should be fine as the pressure increases as he's adapting now. Not saying there isn't any pressure just not as much as his counterpart is under. |

People wonder how New Jersey's paper-ugly defense made it to the finals last season. Well aside from playing within their system, Brodeur relieved A LOT of pressure with his puck-handling. It makes it that much harder to sustain a forecheck when the opposing netminder is just flinging the puck out at a second's notice. - BoomGoesTheCoburn
Very true and bryzgalov's puck handling is nothing special. |

As I said before, 5.7 million cap hit for 7 more years is unacceptable. As the Don says, its not personal, its just business. While I certainly hope they are much better, I can't see the Flyers as a cup contender next year and I'd be fine with a tandem of Mason and Emery. |

this
was so noticable in that series last year - Crimsoninja
Agreed, but a large part had to do with the Flyers inability to skate through the blue-line, hence the need to dump and chase. |

What do you expect if Mason outshines Bryz this year and next year? Is Mason going to sign a friendly contract? |

No he's gonna get upwards of 5 if this goes where we hope |

Not just Bryzgalov's - but go back 10 years or so... it's ugly.
Biron might have been the worst of the lot. I can still remember that game where he GAVE Crosby the GWG out above the dots at the WFC. |

Well it won't be for 9 years and he'll only be 26, not 31. |

This is definitely true. But having Brodeur as a 3rd d-man, for all intents and purposes, allowed them to play such an efficient system. It's always been about him with NJ. |

well we did give bob away - 2Real
a 2nd and 4th in the current draft and a 4th in the following draft is a lot more than a 3rd in 3 years. |

I'm waiting for the Carter Defender to swoop in like Spider-Man to defend Jeff's good name. |
