Bobrovsky save on that Landeskog breakaway last night was phenomenal.

Tore Vikingstad is a great name.
With a name like that, he should be a villain in the next Thor movie. - johndewar
Most effective when allowed to use a warhammer as opposed to a hockey stick. |

Lavy would have had him plastered to the bench...Because apparently that is how Lavy rolls...

Rinaldo's the one guy that's gotten his deserved ice time this season, but why pass up a chance to rip the coach. We almost got through two pages.

The best part is, the Flyers got 1 minute of power play time out of it, because the refs were so aggressive to make sure to even it up after Foster came to the defense of his teammate.
They really need to re-do the instigator rule. The "fight" after the hit was instigated because of the illegal elbow. - Jsaquella
Yea, a good ref penalizes Foster but makes sure the team of the player that made the hit, get's the appropriate PP time. - MJL
I agree with both of you. |

The sad thing about the upcoming Ryan White suspension is
You know they are going to hammer him with a long time out because he is a a scrub. They love making examples of the no name players. |

Bill Clement came through with a great line last night.
When Plekanic was doing crazy things to Briere after a faceoff,
I was thinking WTF was that?
Clement answered "crosscheck push-ups"
Habs really lost their composure.

Absolutely. I started becoming a huge Shea Weber fan about 2 years ago. But as much as I like him, he deserved a minimum of 2 games for the WWF Zetterberg head slam last year. If a guy like Hillen had done it, no brainer.
Also, Weber pissed off is a glorious sight. Probably the one player in the game I'd be most terrified to have angry at me.
Briere is no saint out there. - bradleyc4
Agreed, but there's rarely a reason to repeatedly cross check a guy in the head when he's down on the ice. In good Briere news, he was noticeable last night in a good way. |

Briere is no saint out there. - bradleyc4 Yup
Briere pissed off turtleneckman because he was holding his stick after the puck was dropped
What pleks did in return was an over the top response
Four crosschecks to his face when he was laying on his back
I like seeing the nasty little bugger side of briere
Pleks lost it
Clement's "cross check push ups" was gold |

Chara's bigger and stronger, and definitely has an edge. But Weber, to me, is like the f-ing Hulk and seems like a guy who could just totally lose it on you where no one would be able to stop him. |

"Forward Ruslan Fedotenko also left the game in the second period with an apparent shoulder injury and did not return. He was boarded by Alex Galchenyuk.
With a quick turnaround before Tuesday night's visit by the Rangers, the Flyers will need to make adjustments. Healthy scratch Mike Knuble likely would replace Fedotenko in the lineup. They would probably need to make alternate arrangements on defense, likely an emergency call-up from Adirondack."
The professional hockey writer must have missed all eight of those shifts and 6:07 that Fedotenko skated in the third period. - bmeltzer

I wasn't up to date on the rule...
mandatory visors are coming but when you fight please take off your helmet so if you get knocket the pluck out, your head can bounce off the ice. - phi1671
Interestingly (or not), USA hockey rules forbids the removal of helmets during an altercation for that very reason.
It's a game misconduct to any player whose helmet comes off during an altercation, even unintentionally. It's the players responsibility to make sure the lid is secure.
If it's removed intentionally, or if the player removes an opponent's helmet during an altercation, it's a match penalty. |

Last night's game really made me miss Dave Schultz, Behn Wilson, Dave Brown and Donald Brashear!
I will thoroughly enjoy watching Montreal get bounced in the 1st round! |

Is it me, or are the Flyers constantly screwed when playing in Montreal by referees with names like Sam St. Laurent or Renee Francois? - danham92

It's kinda scary to think that in all of our most recent wins the hockey gods have demanded an injury sacrifice...
4/15 Habs - Huskins
4/4 Leafs - Timmonen (did play next game but hurt - left in the third and was questionable next game)
4/3 Habs - Rinaldo
3/31 Caps - Talbot |
