no reason to invade unless you just want to take things away that are not yours |

Honestly I would love to see the Middle East blow each other up, but the problem with that a country like China is way more reliant on it than NA is. They are going to have to go get oil somewhere and what will they be willing to do to get it? - ShooterMcGavin
The taps still flow more than regularly enough from other stable countries there. Plus there have been recent discoveries of massive deposits not only here in our own oil sands, but also around the arctic circle, Australia and in the northern US. |

"Peak oil" was and always has been a complete myth. Climate change, which is undeniable now (the only debate now is whether we have caused this or not and lets please not get into that), will eventually force developed countries to look in other directions anyways. Even the powerbrokers arent completely blinded by greed. They just want to milk the fossil fuel cow for as long as possible. |

I think it would be very hard for the rest of the world to pick up production lost in the Middle East quickly and for a sustained period. Anyways I'm going back to posting stupid memes, it's way (frank)ing easier. |

Marincin having a good game ... - AlEx_OiL
He's been playing really well since mid-February. That was around the point when the patchwork team began to gel and succeed as well. I feel like he's a player whose standing as a top-4 Dman would rely upon the success of the team he plays on. He seems like he could be a good complimentary top-4 Dman at some point. |

The entire world would be better off if we all abandoned the ridiculous policies against marijuana and were allowed to produce it commercially. Not for smoking purposes alone, but for the multitude of other uses it has. |

He was a bust a long time ago. Even in his Hitmen days you could see his lack of mobility would prevent him from being an NHLer....so of course we drafted him mid-first round. |

Absolutely human induced.
The most worrying type of climate change is that which has been brought on through modifications to the natural atmospheric budget of what we've dubbed greenhouse gasses. atmospheric warming caused by greenhouse gasses in trace amounts is a natural phenomenon, which indeed keep the atmosphere at a livable temperature. (earths mean temperature would be about 33 degrees lower than at present without them)
but, the most important naturally occuring of these GHG's (CO2, methane, water vapour etc) have increased dramatically in the last 200+ years. CO2 alone has increased by a staggering 25% in the last 100 years. not coincedentally right around the explosion of the industrial revolution.
Human induced modifications to the biogeochemical cycles, along with the addition of new gasses with greenhouse properties (CFC's) have hugely influenced the destruction of the stratospheric ozone layer. We're warming the climate both by getting more sun through ozone depletion, and all trapping longwave radiation in the atmosphere through GHG's
id love it if some tech optimist oil baron came here to debate human induced climate change. ill burn that motherfuker to the ground. |
