Glad to know he's been cured. Being a Flyer with unrealistic expectations is a serious condition. |

was interesting last night hearing Dreger (I think, could've been McKenzie) on NHL Tonight saying that it's likely either Bryz stays and Lavy goes or Lavy stays and Bryz goes. - wilsonecho91
What's the rationale here? Because they don't get along? |

I'd doubt it, maybe something to do with the system Lavy likes to run, having Mason in net to negate opponents fore-checking and to be able to move the puck quickly up the ice is a boon for Lavy's system. Bryz is better when he stays in his net. |

Probably because they plan on blaming the season on one or the other. |

It makes a huge difference. Huge, Huge difference. Bryz's puck handling gives me a headache. I like him otherwise but it is a big deal. |

Pulock might end up the better player. Defensemen are too hard to predict. Look at 2008. Colten teubert was ranked and picked higher than Erik Karlsson. So was Zach Bogosian. - psuhockey
I have a manboy crush on Nurse...he's bigger and more physical but Pulock seems more dynamic offensively...I'd be pretty happy with Pulock in the fold (or Nurse, or, of course Jones if the Hockey Gods want to pay us back for missing Kane). |

you guys may have talked about this already, but how does: http://www.philly.com/phi...or_Bryz_.html#recent_comm
get printed??? How can Sam think he can write about the flyers and not know there are 2 buyouts??? Should he be alowed to keep his job? - FlyersFirst
Does it matter? Clouds are white, Flyers beat writers in this city are boneheads, the sky is blue. |

It is a fact that you do not have to know anything about hockey to write about it in the Philadelphia region. It only helps your readership if you do. |

I've heard of man-crush (the term I used when it was rumored the Flyers were pursuing Hartnell in 2007 via trading for his rights), but not this one. Seems kinda creepy.
YMMV |

I do agree with you about Nurse. My point was more that losing out the rest of the way might get us Nurse instead of Pulock but that doesn't guarantee anything.
The only thing Pulock has over Nurse definitively is his shot. Pulock's shot is unreal, his wind up may be a split second long but that's only when he puts all of his strength in a clapper. |

Sam's not a beat writer. He gets to write about whatever tickles his fancy. My brother and I ran into him at PJ Whelihan's in Westmont about 10 years ago. My brother talked hockey with him (we were there to watch a Flyers game) and puffed him up. Before leaving he says, "Sam, good talking to you. You keep writing and I'll keep buying the paper and lining my parrot's cage with it." |

So true. This is such a blatent example of it.
Pure lack of any knowledge whatsoever.
If there was any outrage left to go around, this is certainly outrageous. |

Its not always about lack of knowledge. Listen not everyone loves hockey and not everyone knows everything about hockey. But there is zero effort when it comes to reporting the Flyers, its a disgrace. |

Nurse has higher upside... he has all the tools and qualities to become a #1 dman (maybe even elite level), but he's still a bit of a project. He's like Seth Jones with much less polish.
Pulock looks more like a solid #2... fantastic puck-mover and PP QB, but can he develop a shut-down/intimidating defensive game? |
