Almost all playoff hockey is closely contested and tight tight checking.
But don't throw out regular season statistics as some barometer of the playoffs.
During the season there are teams playing 4 games in 5 nights; playing back to back against opponents who may have been sitting and resting for 3 days etc. Everything is equal in the post season with playoff opponents.
Go Red Wings. Don't want to see that Coyote squad boring me in the playoffs with their ugly style of play. - RickJ
I agree about phoenix. They are actually very close to a spot. Just a win away. I feel the same about columbus. They would also make a boring series. Still pulling for dallas. Tough game tomorrow in LA, though. Dallas or minny would be my choice |

But down and out of position on all 3 shoot-out shots. Got lucky on Vrbatta's. - StLBravesFan Good thing there are no shoot-outs in the playoffs...

But there isn't a lot of room for error in the playoffs, either. 1 bad goal leading to losing a playoff game is huge. Obviously we want Crawford to do well and Hawks win, but longer game goes without Hawks putting a team away, the more pressure on crawford. |

Classy move by Yandle last night in the warmups honoring the youngster Martin Richard who was killed in the bombing attacks this week.
Now the game...great game for Seabs two PP goals - loved when he blew on his hot hand to cool it off after the second one.
Oduya and Brookbank looked bad. Plenty of pizzas. Mayers with hopefully his last start of the season. He did have a nice hit there, and obviously Q's trying to keep everyone involved a bit here down the stretch. Of those three Carcillo, Mayers, and Bollig I'd go with Bollig right now. But with Sharpie back will any of those three even see the ice?
Smith was the difference for sure for Phoenix. Meanwhile Craw was in playoff form last night channeling his inner Leon Durham. While some folks are saying fluke goal no biggie - what if that's a playoff game last night? He didn't look sharp Friday night either, but the offense bailed him out.
On to Van where the cheap shot kings of the league await. |

Credit to te coaching staff for keeping these guys motivated and skating hard especially on back to back nights with little to play for except the stupid Presidents' trophy.
Seems like lately there is a lot of these 100 foot bouncers finding the net
Carey Price and Kipper last week and last nigh Crawford
Wonder if the ice in the UC is part of the cause |

CRAWFORD SUCKS BALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLZZZZZZZZZZZZZ - philco28
Crawford has completly reverted back to being a mindless shotblocker, I won't after he falls to his knees as he always makes that first move if he closes his eyes too?

Crawford was no different last night than against Nashville...some nice saves but that beach ball was a back breaker for the team |

If you watched the game, Crawford wasn't terrible. Two goals were bullpoop and another one he had no chance on. Scoreboard doesn't always tell the tale. Lou Malnati's rocks! - Assman22
So I WATCHED last nights game as well and saw the same old CROW |
