I like his toughness but because he and Rozie have been rotated regularly...it seems like his touch with the puck INSIDE OUR BLUE LINE is wanting much of the time. - philco28
Question for all you hockey players out there... Do you think the rotation of Brookbank and Rozie, which is done for understandable reasons, has a side affect of hurting the game of either or both? Hasn't seemed to hurt Rozie's game, but I've been wondering about the effect of inconsistent playing time on them (same would go for forwards who sit a lot).

Good question Mo
As you can tell from my earlier post....i'd say it has hurt Sheldon. I believe it's also hurt Car Bomb. As for Bollig, Mayers and other black aces...they seem to more comfortable sitting a few and then playing. |

Agree on those guys - interesting how it affects some and not others.

I think Ogi said it best, Brookbank is a great #7 but a poor #6. With that being said, in the playoffs Brookbank will be on the 4th pairing and he'll play every game. Will be interesting to see who his line mate will be. |

Is the game roster expanded in the playoffs? Or will they play fewer forwards?
Edit - checked some old playoff box scores - 18 skaters and two goalies - so I don't see how the Hawks will dress eight defensemen in playoff games. |

Why do they need the 2 goalies? |

Umm, no.
Maybe 7 D dress on occasion if they want Brookbank as a 4th line wing/D-man insurance, but I don't see that happening unless we have a sudden rash of injuries. |

That was strange - not much of a fight; didn't seem like he landed a punch, but maybe a shoulder. |

I'm all for starting Hutton, and getting Leblanc into a game or two.
After the Hawks rack up 5 more points, assuring home ice for as long as they stay in the playoffs. |

I didn't expect the Pens to beat Boston today. where would the pens be without their powerplay? The pens are going to make it close, though |

Today's article....
Blackhawks Roll to 7 in a Row + Is 6 outdoor games too much?
:http://myfoxchicago.com : http://bit.ly/11a79MX - Al
Something about the UC that brings out better efforts from teams that are struggling coming in. That smelled and looked like a "exhibition" gme cuz it was...had no impact in the standings or playoffs. The Hawks were lazy and sloppy and times. And Rinne has been run into the ice by Trotz playing him every gme...he looked completely flat.
And so another team with problems comes in with only 3 goals scored in their last 3 gmes but...but hey they like the UC as they have won 6 of their last 7 here (incl the 3 in the playoff last year). Not sure if Smith plays; he missed the last 2 gmes.
Anyway looks to be another close one...wouldn't be surprised to see Phx get the 2 points based on the recent history and their success at the UC. However the Hwks have lit up Mr. "stick smashing" Smith...would luv to see that trend continue. |

I hope to see LeBlanc get some time in a game before the season ends. I really don't care if Hutton sees a game or not. |

I thought they played down to the Preds level last night, as they have against other crappy teams. It really pisses me off. With all the lazy passes and careless turnovers Nashvegas had in just the first period alone, the Hawks should've scored 6 -7 goals.
Simply put, when the Hawks play their own aggressive game, they cannot be stopped. They're a well-oiled machine. When they get taken off their game or let the foot off the gas, like we've seen at times, they are their own worst enemy. It's all mental. - Assman22
You would probably hate being a fan of every other team in the league if you think this team plays down to its competition, because he win almost every game. In a week there will only be good teams left, so don't worry about it |
