It's not that I particularly am jumping ship on Crawford, it's just that I've not enjoyed his play in the past 2. Granted, not much to play for, but if that's the case then give Crawford some rest and let Hutton borrow the keys for an hour.

And besides, I'm more concerned about making sure the PP can find the back of the damn net and improving the effort given at the UC. The play at home has been largely subpar for the Hawks in comparison to play on the road, and I'm not particularly happy if they bring this trend into a WC playoff with home ice advantage.

And screw the hollow honour of winning the President's trophy

I won't go that far, but this game is almost irrelevant.

I understand your point, but I think some (including me) are suffering from some PTSD in this area. Bad ones bring back some baaaaaaad memories.

Agreed. And even with Sugar Ray out for a few games, CC is still playing for his spot. If you want to be #1, you can't allow goals like that first one, period.

Bogie, he's scary: too many bad bounces - even when he seemingly has control - get past him (granted not like the first one tonite, but no excuse for that), too many TOs get past him, too many short-side shots get past him.

Hawks need to play almost a perfect defensive game nite after nite to save him, can't count on him saving them.

Exactly. If Crawford rarely gave up a softie, everybody would be calling that first goal a fluke, or bad luck, but because he's done it time and time again, fans get gun-shy. Another thing, you can have what would be considered a solid game by most, for instance, making 30 saves on 32 shots, but if those two goals are softies that cost your team a game, well . . . right or wrong, that's the nature of the position. You have to have solid, reliable goaltending in the playoffs. I hope Crawford plays great and leads the team to the cup. I have absolutely nothing against him, but based on his penchant to give up the soft goal, I just can't have total confidence in him until he proves me wrong.

CC doesn't need rest, he needs to be replaced. He is a lousy goalie and always has been. We go into the playoffs with him and we are in trouble. I have said it before, we need a real goalie. He only looks good when the defense is good, otherwise the guy is a sieve.
