if the Isles advance past the first round, it's not an upset. Theyre one of the hottest teams in the league right now and what better time to find your groove. - Mr.Black
Anytime a bottom seed beats a team who's seeded higher its an upset. With 4 games remaining the best the isles could finish is prob 5th, which would mean they play the 4th seed. Hence ; upset |

Would be nice if the Devils helped up out today and gave us a little more breathing room. Some help for a change wouldn't be the worst thing. - NewYawkIslandez
We'd all LOVE a devils win.......unfortunately i dont think they match up well against the Rangers.

Caps and Isles are prob the hottest two teams in the east. Either way i dont think anyone wants to play the isles. If Nabby stays healthy, they can upset some teams with how theyre playing right now.
Sidenote : How can anyone chirp Boyes with how he's been playing lately. The guy can still dangle.... - kindlyrick
Boyes has one good game in Toronto and he can dangle? The guy is horrible in so many different ways and has no business being on the first line. Resigning Boyes would be a huge misstep on snows part. |

I loved the passion KO showed yesterday, I personally would have loved to see Bogo and KO Go-oh.
And Wheeler is a spineless punk. Martin made him look like a little car |

I saw this on the Peg blog. What a jackass for saying that. And I love that he has 17 comments, all from Islander fans. |

What if the 6th seed has more points then 3rd seed which could happen. Still an upset? |

Absof'nlutely. Bailey has turned a major corner and has finally started to prove himself. Boyes sucks defensively and offensively. He is decent in the shoot out but we have plenty of good shoot out guys. Boyes brings down the first line. Why Cappy refuses to put Grabs up there but keeps him on the 4th line instead is mind boggling.
The newsday article about Boyes thinking he should get a new contract is laughable. - NewYawkIslandez
I saw the article...I must be watching a different player then they're watching...Boyes had a lot of chances yesterday and missed on all of them. Instead of resigning Boyes use the money saved and see what Anaheim would want for Ryan or what San Jose wants for Pavelsky... |

Boyes' numbers mean he'll almost certainly be paid over his current $1M next season, so he's not wrong saying what he did. But man, you'd expect him to at least acknowledge the franchise center that made his "comeback" possible. |

I almost vomited when I read that article. Saying Boyes has delivered and is due for another contract is laughable. the guy fanned on two glorious chances on net yesterday including a gaping wide open net. The first Winnipeg goal was directly his fault, just a regular game for Brad Boyes. He is clearly holding up that line with some help from Moulson lately. Snow resigning him would be a complete and total misstep on his part and to me screams laziness and settling for a subpar player to play with your up and coming home grown star. Give Tavares an even half way decent winger and this team will be better for it. Enough with Boyes, the guy plain old sucks. |

The guy has nine goals playing with one of the best centers in the league. He's got to go |

How can snow sign Boyes? IMO the only forward to come up next year is nino. He needs top 6 mins. However I don't want to brake up the second line at all. We have way to many forwards for the bottom 6. Also would love to see the bridge start winning. Teaching the players " battle level" |

Boyes has had moments but i'd sooner he have them elsewhere...other than the growth of our top picks and JT and MM the real change in this team is the hard work of guys like Martin, MacDonald and Cizikas and dare I say the huge turn around in KO, never saw him turning things around like this this season...however what we are seeing is what we all expected for a long time from him. No longer do we have over the hill 3rd and 4th liners on ou top 2 lines.these guys work, the KO line is unreal on the boards....Boyes needs to go, he does have some talent left (I can see him doing well with the Bruins team). Lets go after an UFA over teh summer to play with JT |

I think if Snow wanted Boyes back he'd already be signed. He has a history of extending guys much sooner than he really had to. He gave Strait 3 years after 2 weeks for crying out loud. |

Just remember this is a team sport and just remember whatever deficiencies you think a player has, the other players do adjust and compensate their game. I think one aspect of Boyes game is his experience and without that experience some of those chances may not have come the lines way. If you guys think he's the Plaxico Burress of the Isles well just look at Plax's Super Bowl ring. OK just a little optimism for us. |

Signing Bailey is a must. Boyes needs to be let go. Isles need to keep moving forward with better young talent and better guys in UFA/trades. Making the playoffs would be huge but it does not mean you have to bring the same exact team back. |
