First line right wing...think they'll hit the market for that -- either a trade or FA signing. The signing may be trying to lure a bigger fish, or taking a chance on another PA/Boyes type player.
- UIF
I hate to bring this back up but this annoys the living crap out of me because they are going to try and do exactly what you are saying. Don't make the same PA mistake as last year. |

I know your thoughts on Boyes, but respectfully I disagree. They have to look to improve on the first line right wing. Someone who brings more to the table than the ability to put some points up by feeding off of JT...they already have one of those in Moulson. I just think Snow has to make a serious effort to bring someone in who can stand on his own and bring something valuable to the table...either a player that can be a force along the boards, or a really good two-way player to offset the defensive shortcomings of Tavares and Moulson. The first line as is...if they're not filling the net with pucks...is an absolute liability out there when the play goes the other way. |

I think Snow tries to make a trade for the power RW for JT...someone like Ryan or maybe Pavelski...Anaheim will need to shed salary so it could happen...
San Jose is against the cap too...if Snow can't make a trade he resigns Boyes... |

Streit is the best UFA D available. We need to give him the 5.5 for 3 like he asked for and be done with it. - kencan98
If that's the contract he's least willing to sign, then see ya. |

I don't mind bringing Streit back, but jeez, if he wants to be paid like an all-around three-zone defenseman, then he has to play like one. A -15 -- worst on the team by far -- won't cut it, especially when he's not even drawing the toughest assignments night in and night out. They'll miss his offense and PP work for sure, but someone else will just have to step up. Vis probably slides into Streit's spot on the PP as the trigger man rather than his current spot as the set-up D. It'll be up to maybe Hickey or possibly eventually Donovan (who tied for the AHL lead in scoring for defenseman today with two more points) to take on Vis' set-up role. |

Oh, well, that's a different story entirely...
edit -- is that really the case? Can't believe he'd be asking for only $1.8M... |

Streit will get @ least 4 million a year.
I would do it.
You can always trade him when the young guys are ready.
Strome will either play with JT and Moulson next year... or will stay in Bridgeport.

I have no problem with giving Donovan a shot this year. I will not be broken up if Streit leaves. Giving Streit three years is insane. |

Have to think Ryan will be available and while I would love to get him I have no problem if Nino is on the 1st line with JT. I like the idea of giving the kids a shot. |

Sorry I forgot the number, it was actually 3 years $10m. Still manageable. |

Since we have two players and only one opening available. NiƱo or strome for Boyes spot. Just wondering if a team would bit, strait and nino for the first overall pick. |

It's too bad the Jets are headed to the Western conference next season. Some serious rivalries have developed between Kane and Hamonic and now KO and Bogosian. Throw in Burmistrov's solid physical play every time the teams meet and Byfuglien's play at the end of the game...could have become a real nice rivalry. |

Link? Most of the early discussions were $5.5 per season, which was the core of kencan's and my discussion last night. He's not worth more than Vis. I seriously doubt Streit takes less than $3.5 per season. |

Snow has to make a trade this offseason, there is a serious log jam
Ulstrom, Joensu, AMac to me are the 3 most likely to be traded

Two years at 4 million is fine if he's going to be signed. Anything more to me would be an overpayment. |

what do u guys think of Lucic?
I think Boston could trade him for the right price...
Obviously Bruins would want something significant |

Ive been very vocal on here as a bailey fan. He should absolutely be extended... - kindlyrick
kindly it was pretty much only me and you that like Bailey always. 90% of this blog wanted him shipped out of here.
Bailey has finally Matured as player. He looks big out there, Strong on the puck, was always able to dangle, and is more confidence letting his shot go now.
If you really think about it. This road trip. We beat two very hot teams (tor and jets) at their homes in games that both teams really wanted to win badly.
What is impressing me most about isles is how calm they remain. Even thought Jets tied it in last second of the game, Isles still almost won it several times before winning it in SO.
