Don't take this the wrong way but if you recognized the problem as a failure to adapt then GM should have noticed it first and either fired him or got him the players his system requires. Maybe Lavy figures that he and his Stanley Cup don't need to adapt to an organization that hasn't won a Cup in 38 years. Who knows? These guys need to figure out what kind of team they want. I feel like the organization is in limbo waiting for the great white hope. - 2731color
Perhaps I am wrong or the GM doesn't agree with my opinion.
I don't think it was the GM's intention to start the season with the team he had, otherwise, why offer Shea Weber the massive deal? Why be involved in Suter and Parise?
Perhaps the GM feels that he can get players better suited to the coach's system this summer.
I can only offer opinions based on what I see and hear. There's certainly more information than we know of.
Very common in Raleigh. Lots of transplant Flyers fans. When the team first got there, every game was more visiting fans than the home fans. It has only been since their first cup run that they had a better following. But I go to every Flyers game each year and we always represent admirably.
Assuming we don't win the lottery and do not get a chance to draft Jones, MacKinnon, Drouin, or Nichushkin, who do we target? If we're somewhere between 6th-12th... several of Nurse, Barkov, Zadorov, Lindholm, Monahan, and Ristolainen are going to be available.
I guess it depends on which of the above kids get picked right before us. If a guy like Monahan falls a la Couturier, he'd be a steal anywhere outside of the top 5 IMO. Nurse, Zadorov, and Ristolainen are huge d-men, Barkov is a giant of a kid at forward.
Finish strong boys, but hoping we wind up with the 6th-8th pick this draft. - Rocktane
We either take Darnell Nurse, or trade Brayden Coburn + our first round pick for a 3rd or 4th overall pick.
Have really liked Gustafson in his own end for the last 12-15 games. He's gotten much better from last year. Looks stronger in the legs and is winning many more board battles. He should be inked in the 3rd pairing next year
OB do you have a one or two line scouting report on lindholm? Haven't seen much banter on him - Just5
Good two-way player, good skater, sees the ice well. He can play center or wing. My comparison players for him are both wingers, but I think he'll end up being a center in the NHL. Best case scenario is a player akin to Loui Eriksson. Worst case, if his offense doesn't develop as hoped would be someone like P.J. Axelsson.

Certainly likes the physical game from the video and for a European skater that's great to see. Was that him that got steamrolled by Seth jones at the end.

Im a big Eriksson fan, very underrated imo.
Think I'd also scream like a school girl if the team drafted Zadorov.
