The team 100% looked off tonight. I dont doubt that at all. BUT, lets get back to reality. The team cant play perfect like they have been this entire month. The fact they got a point out of this and clinched was icing on the cake. But look around the league. the rangers, canadiens, bruins, and penguins all lost as well. Games like this are gonna happen. Its inevitable. Us as fans CANNOT complain what so ever. This is more than we could ever ask for, because we all know we were looking at top 5 draft picks 2 months ago. This team is going to be special. Even if the Isles get swept, this team has proven to be significant once again, and its only going to get better in the future. Its no longer we want playoffs, it's we want the cup. we're in.

Another comment... I'll admit I went out for a couple of celebratory beers...but I just watched NHL Live. I saw the interview with Capuano. It just had me thinking about things. I pretty much hated that Capuano was the coach of the team in the beginning of the year. I was actually upset he wasnt fired at one point during the season. But now that things have ended up this way. I cant help but respect what he's been doing. The guy took a puck to the face, and was back within days. He had kidney stones, and was back within days. The guy lost id say, FORTY pounds? I honestly do think that doing stuff like that leaves impression on people. I have gained a ton of respect for the guy. I think stuff like that is overlooked. And for now, I appreciate the effort he has put into this organization. Everyone female doged and moaned over the moves he made, and didnt make, but he stuck to his gut (or lack there of now, haha) and proved almost all of us wrong.

Onto Garth Snow. Im still uneasy about certain decisions that he has made. He guaranteed a cup contender within 5 years...and well...lets be serious. This team is NOT a cup contender just yet, but he has most certainly shut my mouth for now. I hope to god this isnt a fluke, and the guys he drafted and signed continue this progress. I honestly think this fan base has jumped to conclusions about him (including myself). Depending on how things go this POST SEASON (my god that feels good to say) and his moves during the off season, I think we can all finally give a "grade" on his performance. Lets just hope this isnt just a lucky season, and this is what he saw coming when we all didnt.

I would think if the Islanders are going to make a trade for a top 6 RW, they would need to trade a prospect. I would think Nino would be the one they trade.

Good let him go plus we all know if his agent didn't cause a distraction a couple of months ago you better believe he would have been called up with the rest of the guys I like the way the isles are sending a message

I think its a message being sent to Nino that he and his agent need to keep their mouths shut and let Nino focus on playing hockey. I applaud it. DP belongs nowhere near the Islanders. let him hang in his huge house in Oyster Bay. Nino can go hang out with him there too.

Isles need all the young talent they can get, particularly they need a power forward, whether it's one they trade for or one they develop on their own (Nino). We made the playoffs, which is fantastic, but Nino was a top 5 pick and is expected to be a significant piece in the rebuild. If they do end up trading him, they better think very carefully about the return they get.
