nothing to do with the Canes' goal but I really thought we'd see Poulin in tonight. Carolina is a weaker team and the Isles could have rested Nabby tonight... I just don't want anything to happen to Nabby coming down the stretch and Poulin should see some games should something happen. - Mr.Black
resting nabby before they clinch a playoff = awful idea
NOW that they clinched, poulin will start at least 1 of the 2 remaining games. |

I think Poulin will play Friday in Buffalo. I just want to stay out of the 8th spot. To me, there's no difference between 6 and 7. |

Why is it an awful idea? Naby has had the heaviest load in the league I believe. Poulin has to play against Philly then Nabby against Buffalo to keep him fresh.
Nabby has let in 3 or more goals in his last 3 starts so just give the guy a rest for a game. I think he deserves it. We need him to be as sharp as possible in the playoffs. |

It would be fantastic if RDP was handing out game programs in the concourse to fans as they enter the building for games 3 and 4... - Jethro09
I don't want him and his bad mojo anywhere near the building! Send him to "scout" in Europe until the playoffs are done. |

The 'trade Nino' stuff is going a bit far. There's nothing to read into the fact that he's not practicing here if he's playing in the Worlds. The team would have known of that intention long before and therefore would have no reason to call him up. Nino will be here next year and will be a big piece of this teams future. |

Yeah we clinched but it won't matter that much if we play like that cause we'll get swept by any team in the conference. That was the *only* dreadful game I've watched in over a month by far. - kencan98

Dreadful is not the right adjective but they certainly were'nt as effective. They seem to be losing touch a little with their game? Don't get me wrong they are still playing well but they have lost some intensity since the Florida game in my eyes. |

This may be the elephant in the room that no one wants to talk about. I've seen a steady dropoff in their play probably since the Rangers game. I think they've still played good, but they had been playing damn near flawless up until that point. It's nearly impossible to maintain that level of performance without a few letdowns but I am concerned that we may be seeing a bit of a leveling off. It's important they finish strong and then really ramp it up for round one. Given the resilience we've seen from this team, I'm confident they can do that.
Hopefully the success doesn't lead to the typical, wait for the other guy to bail us out type crap. We can't have 'passengers' now. |

No doubt there has been a drop in play. They looked like utter crap last night. I would have to think they will turn it up again in the playoffs but last night was tough to watch. We seemed to be skating in sand and the passing was shat. First goal Nabby let in was garbage too. JT had a bad game (except for his goal). The Bailey line was still our best line again, fine by me though.
Not sure if any of you guys ever watch ESPNs "not top10" but if Ruutu's (I think it was Ruutu) missing of the wide open net with nobody around him and no goalie in sight doesnt make it on that list I would be shocked. That was pathetic.

Isles need all the young talent they can get, particularly they need a power forward, whether it's one they trade for or one they develop on their own (Nino). We made the playoffs, which is fantastic, but Nino was a top 5 pick and is expected to be a significant piece in the rebuild. If they do end up trading him, they better think very carefully about the return they get. - UIF
exactly...i dont want to trade nino, the guy will be a beast within 3 years and playing quality hockey in the nhl by latest middle of next season...
if isles need a big piece to trade...move the 1st round pick. |

Idt JT had a bad game last night, he really only had 1 or 2 turnovers
Moulson on the other hand looked tired, he was the glaring screw up on the PP to me both times last night |

Was talking about exactly that last night when we were watching the game. We should absolutely use that as a trade chip to get a 1st line winger in here. We have so many top tier prospects in the system. Time to trade the first rounder this offseason to benefit the Isles for years to come. |
