Oh don't fool yourself, he still does. Very much so. Lets it slip out sometimes during games. He did'nt change sides bcs he's announcing for the Islanders. With that said i still think he's pretty good.

He's not the worst in the game that's for sure... & I would take him over ALOT of guys.. But I prefer Jiggs voice over Howie's.

This is true growing up with Jiggs helps, but Jiggs has such a great voice.. i cant listen to Howie & when he's on the screen talking I just want to punch him in the f'in mouth.

He is knowledgeable about the sport, but he has a face & voice for newspapers

He is a diffrent announcer for Met games.. I dont know if he has more of a passion for baseball, the Mets, Both.. but he just is a better Baseball announcer... I still want to punch him in the f'in face if he shows his mug during a Mets game... But I dont pay attention to those games like I do Isles games.

The 3 worst color commentators in the entire league are all in the NY area. Butch, Micheletti and possibly the worst of them all, Chico. Funny since all teams have such great announcers. Even funnier is how 2 of those 3 are former Isles greats.

No doubt...guess thats the reason he calls a majority of the NBC games instead of the useless Devils. I have friends who cant stand him though, not sure why.
He does tend to over dramatize sometimes but I think it adds to the excitement.
