The way things have worked out this year - shortened season, Flyers struggling and likely to get a top 10 pick in a solid draft class - now is the time for the Flyers to try to draft a future Norris candidate. - wolfhounds
Anyone else prefer Darnell Nurse as our draft pick (obviously not over jones lindholm mackinnon etc, but for our projected spot in the draft)

The same is true for a lot of guys his age. Luke Schenn struggled last year. This season, he's been very solid. Defensemen generally take awhile to develop - Jsaquella
I think Mcbain is an excellent buy low candidate if Carolina is looking to sell
Rough season for Carolina. J Staal has a horrid minus number. |

Never heard of him but good read here : http://whl-from-above.blo...eatherington-on-rise.html.
Love the size. 6 foot 4 and basically 200 pounds already.
Kind of frightening that I am 5 foot 9 on a good day, and 165 pounds. - flyer_nutter
I read that already.
Others I'd have interest in are
Jordan Subban - Belleville
Mirco Mueller - Everett
Shea Theodore - Seattle
Madison Bowey - Kelowna
Chris Bigras - Owen Sound
MacKenzie Weegar - Halifax
Kyle Burroughs - Regina
Niklas Hansson - Rögle
Michael Downing - Dubuque (USHL, currently committed to Michigan)
I've watched others but many are not going to be ready in 1 or 2 years. |

2 first round picks in a row to address a 3rd shutdown line?! - Just5
In a conference that will hold Crosby, OV, Malkin, Eric Staal, Huberdeau, Nash, and Spezza just to name a few I would be extremely happy having a true consistent shutdown line that can chip in some goals as well. |

Laughton and Couturier are both Centers. I would hope that Couturier plays with better offensive players in the future, then that. That isn't a line combo I'd like to see. |

I dont see Couturier getting out of being the third line center with Giroux and Schenn infront of him (unless they move Schenn to wing). |

You can use Laughton on wing but with going 61.1% on faceoffs which I believe was top 5 in the OHL (wasn't even 1st on his own team) people should want him as a center. |

I think Couturier's potential is a lot higher then 3rd line Center.

man oh man, Columbus must be salivating over having 3 1st rounders as ammo in this draft. |

Only these have a realistic shot at a late 1st to me, others could be 2nd all the way to maybe 5th or 6th round and will need all the time to develop.

I had no idea he was like that, but will be interesting to see if he can carry it over to the NHL. It would make drafting another center even more interesting.
Whats everyone's game snacks? Im frying up some placky to be ready for game time.

I asked a writer/scout to bother the teams stat guys to get his faceoff % since the league doesn't post that info on their site. |

So instead of letting a kid make his debut and see wha he can do, Laviolette dresses Andreas (frank)ing Lilja. Please show him the door, Holnmgren. |

Lavy is really starting to piss me off
found out Konan is a HS and Andreas (frank)ing LIlja gets the start???
Yes, lets play the like 38 year old vet who sucks instead of a kid who will prob only play a few NHL games in his life
#LavyLogic
They need to fire his ass. Tired of Couts playing on the 4th line and vets getting more icetime than the kids in meaningless games
Probbably put Mason in there to torture him with 45+ shots with this AHL defense
DOnt get down on yourself kid if you get lit up. Thank the coach for being a jackass |

Schenn has played wing most of his NHL Career.
Couts is a better center. Schenn's style is fit for wing. |

I have kind of a vibe that Lava isn't the guy that purely decides on who plays and who doesnt.
If he did indeed make that call, its just another bad player management decision. My biggest thing with him.

Think about the logic you're using here. You're complaining about Konan not playing, and Lilja is. And calling it an AHL defense. Would it be less of an AHL defense if Lilja was scratched, and Konan was playing?

Then why not fire him and just let Holmgren be the coach? I think Laviolette decides who dresses and the roles they play. |

Don't know what would be giving you that vibe. Laviolette is the Coach, and he decides which players at his disposal play. Konan was called up as a reward for his hard work, just to be around the team, and because they need an extra defenseman. What do you know about Konan as a player? |

Partly because I cant believe he would be this continously stupid.
Big test for Mason, Boston is looking to get back on track. |

Why not? Look at Carolina after they won the Cup. Look at how he's coached the last two years here. He's stubborn to the point where it's a detriment. |
