I really do think the goalies are just going to go back and forth for the final few games.
And Briere is auditioning for a job with a new team. They'll play him. - FlyersGrace
I think he is lowering his value by being out there playing so badly. He's already proved he's healthy. He should be scratched in favor of one of the young forwards.
Did we ever learn why akeson had been sent to trenton at the beginning of the year? - Just5
It was never a secret, honestly. Terry Murray was displeased with Akeson's lack of defensive ability coupled with his average-at-best skating and below-average size. The Phantoms sent him to Trenton, telling him to work on his D in particular.
His end-of-season callup to the big club was a reward for his hard work. He's unlikely to get into any games, ala a playoff Black Ace. The organization still does not view him as more than a fringe NHL prospect, however, because he has to play on a scoring line.

He's at best an AHL scorer. Nothing more. - Flyers_V88

Maybe, maybe not. Either way I think they'll give him the shot to prove himself.
And as much as I'd like to see the young forwards I don't think we'll see much of them to be honest. I could always be wrong.

Big time. Flyers need depth in the AHL and need to hold onto those pieces. It's almost impossible to deal primarily in only roster players or picks to opposing teams who also want to get better by adding roster players. Hence why the Flyers will have some difficulty acquiring pieces without giving up much off their roster. We have no depth or good prospects that will land anything decent in return.

The only thing Briere can do in these last three regular season games that would really affect his value is get injured.
