No.
We also did not get Seth Green, Seth Rogan, Seth MacFarlane, or Seth Meyers. - johndewar
Seth Meyers sat across from me on the M train into the city a year ago. He looked pretty hungover. |

That seems standard for him.
He'll likely not age well and slowly morph into Vincent Schiavelli. |

If we didd'nt make the JVR for Schenn trade, we would not have had a single starting D make it through the year. - flyler
This amazes me... Talbot, Rinaldo and Wellwood for our forward core... Crazy, that's 22% of all our contracts on IR...
EDIT: Forgot Walker and Shelley - 26% |

And then there was Schenn.....
I guess Luke is the winner. I know I am being premature since there are three games left.
Amazing that Timo, Grossman, Coburn, Meszaros, and Gervais are all out for the season. Ive never seen a d-corps so decimated in all my years of watching hockey.
If you would have showed me that starting six at the beginning of the season I would have thrown up. |

If Schenn continues to be a beast he's going to feel more and more like a steal with his 3.6 mil cap hit through 15 - 16.... |

I've heard alot of talk in the comments of this blog from Flyers fans in regard to offseason plans. Who they wish the Flyers would move/buyout, trade for, draft, etc. I've heard talks about wishing that they would trade for Pietrangelo, or another elite class D man. It made me wonder, does anyone know if other teams dream and think realistically about a trade for a Flyers player? Does anyone know if on some other comment board, another group of fan realistically discusses what it would take to get Voracek or Giroux? I thought they were talking quite realistically about the possibility of a Pietrangelo trade and what it would take, and it made me wonder how St. Louis fans would feel about it. Anyone know? |

Maybe Giroux. After that, the Flyers lack that sexy big-name player. They have good players in guys like Voracek, Timonen, and Simmonds. And they have desirable young players in Schenn and Couturier. But no other marquee names. |

good players can be traded for.. some recent examples Hodgson for Kassian, Filip Forsberg for Erat, Shattenkirk and Stewart for Erik Johnson and McClement |

I hear from fans of Edmonton, Montreal and Vancouver that they would love to get Simmonds or Hartnell. Teams that supposedly need more size and/or grit.
Any team in the league would love Giroux or Voracek.
I suppose there are a lot of teams that would like another big, physical, shut down type
defenseman like Grossmann and Luke Schenn. |

Yeah, but just like the Flyers wouldn't trade Giroux for a couple of less-talented, farther off talents unless there was something forcing their hand (cap issues, locker-room issues, player wants out), St Louis isn't going to dump their #1 dman for a collection of our question marks. Maybe if we had somebody in our system that was comparable to Pietrangelo, there might be a hockey deal there, but we really don't.

according to capgeek Flyers are already 3 Mil over next years cap...How in the frank can they improve this team? Even with a Briere buyout that would give us around 3 mil. So tired of this team being at the top of the cap year in and out and getting marginal results. - flyerfan28
Yea but that includes Pronger |

look at Johnson's #s this year: http://avalanche.nhl.com/...lub/player.htm?id=8473446
- wilsonecho91
He's one of the very few top young defenders that the Flyers might actually have a chance at trading for... if COL manages to draft Jones, it might prompt them to do something with Johnson while he still has trade value. |
