much better player in the under 18 tourney FWIW - homiedclown
Rychel put up 40 goals in the OHL 2 years in a row. Mantha put up 50 in the QMJHL. IMO Rychel would've scored 60 in the Quebec league. |

Maybe Miller and Leino a buyout. Doesn't it seem strange they never put Leino on IR? I think they probably try to keep Vanek. But it will be up to Vanek.

So who wants to keep Vanek? - sippyd
Not me
1) as the season goes along and he plays "banged up" his play clearly suffers
2) even if he wants to be here, it'll prob take long term & big $$$ per to get the deal done... Signing a guy w recurring back issues till he's in his late30s seems like a bad idea to me
3) we can get a TON for him IMO
Seems like trading him is a "no brainer" |

At the end of the day he was still injured and will have hip surgery, thus keeping him from getting bought out as one can't buyout an injured player. |

Miller gets moved at the draft, Vanek gets moved by the deadline where his value will be through the roof. |

Why would Darcy move an elite goalie and a superstar? |

Rychel also has 87pts in 68gp compared to Mantha with 89pts in 67gp.
Again Rychel plays in the QMJHL he has close to 110pts. |

One of the purest OHL goal scorers eligible for the 2013 NHL Draft, Kerby Rychel has been nothing but extraordinary over the last two years. For someone who scored only seven goals as a rookie, Rychel has surely come alive since being in a Windsor Spitfires uniform. He scored 41 goals in his second OHL season in 2011-12 and the only reason why he was not drafted was because of his birthday being in October 1994. He has been Mr. Everything for the Spitfires, playing in all situations and providing significant leadership on and off the ice. With Windsor's veteran corps from the last two seasons reasonably dispatched, it is good to know that Rychel will be counted upon to provide guidance to younger players on the team, including Joshua Ho-Sang, Adam Bateman, Ryan Verbeek and Sam Studnicka. He is a dynamic skater and he has also shown that he can be a physical force, just like his father Warren before him. He also has incredible versatility and adaptability to any situation. Rychel will be a great addition to any team with a young forward group as he could sure come in and provide much needed assistance.

Sounds good to me!
U don't hear too many guys defined as both a "dynamic skater" and a "physical force"
Plus he can score...
Sounds like tole total package
I'm wondering why he isn't ranked higher? |

I think Vanek and Miller are gone
I can see Leino staying bc we can still buy him out after next season, and maybe they want Larsson or Armia to strt in Rochester
Stafford I think could be here also bc we prob won't get a decent offer for him
Miller and Vanek should get good returns |

IMO axing almost 13.4 mil off the cap is going to make it very difficult to reach the cap floor.
Miller and Staff will be hitting the road come draft time. |

Because we need to rebuild, not retool...
And it'd be dumb (even though both are very good) to sign them to long term deals till they're in their late30s-early40s
And it's becoming pretty obvious they don't wanna be her |
