No 2-3 games since he has done this before (one just this week). The guy just contradicted himself by sayign Brown didnt force his elbow into Pommer. Then in the next sentance says it was thrusted into his face.

Have you seen Pominville play? He wasn't going for a hit(obviously) he was going to play the puck, mabye try to tie Brown up. Now I have no problem with a guy throwing an exploding shoulder along the boards like that, Wild players do it all the time, but he threw his elbow back. That's the big difference. You don't brace yourself by throwing back your elbow. Elbowing is elbowing no matter what context you want to put it in.

He didnt throw his elbow back. The elbow came from the side and Pommer came in pretty low. His face is basically parallel with Browns elbow. Brown makes contact to make a clean get away with the puck. If elbow was down it would have been maybe a shoulder. Should Brown not make the contact at all? Should he let Pommer just come over and poke the puck? Does it suck Pommer got hurt. Of course it does. But he should be smarter about it.

The best part of this whole discussion is that if it was Lucic instead of Pominville and everything else happened just the same all these people would agree that it was Lucic fault not Brown. Everyone here must get their panties in a bunch when it comes to poor Pominville. Crybabies

Perhaps you should watch it again. When you stop on skates your instinct is to lean back. Your body (top half) is behind your bottom half (Physics) When Pominville is stopping he is leaning back and his face is the farthest part of his body from Brown on contact.

I'm not saying his intent was to tag Pommer in the face. Not at all, but his intent was to throw his elbow back, that much is clear. Plenty of guys guard the puck along the boards without throwing their elbows back. Either way, it was a questionable and reckless at best play by Brown, and I'm not taking all responsibility away from Pommer either. As a veteran player he should be ready for anything and he clearly didn't expect to get knocked out. That being said, at the very least he should have expected resistance of some kind whether he was playing the puck or not, which is what I think he was trying to do.

Look, my 2nd favorite team is the Kings (was before all the Flyers migrated there). I've been a huge Dustin Brown fan for years. I agree 2-3 games. It wasn't a malicious play, but it was a careless, reckless play that shouldn't be overlooked. Like I said, suspend him for the last 2 games of the season.

Agree with that. I like Brown a lot, would take him on the Sabres, but you have to keep the elbows down. You are in control of your body and he raised the elbow, instinctive or not, he did it.

I think Ottawa's owner should be hired to come up with forensic evidence and prove Brown had every intent to nail Poms.
