Streit is fine as a 3rd pairing D with Grossman and 2nd PP time. Stalberg is nice because of his speed.

I was thinking they might make an offer to Grant Clitsome, but now I'd rather they just play Gusty and use Lauridsen as a call up for the inevitable injuries.

Yeah, no sense in signing depth d when there's capable guys in-house. Bourdon and Alt could be in the mix as well.

We also have Kent Huskins hanging around.

Honestly, for their 6th and 7th defensemen for next year....I think the Flyers are good to go.

Gusty is a top 6 for me, IMO.

At equal money, I'd rather have Gagne, much less Stalberg making 2X.

What kind of money is Streit going to want? And how many years? he's an over 35 player. For what I think he's going to want, hard to justify him being a 3rd pair and 2nd PP unit player.

Only problem is, he'd cost you Carle money and he's 35+.

If that's the case then obviously I wouldn't give him anywhere close to 5. Maybe 7 over two years, but not much more. At the right price, Streit is beyond serviceable and would fit in terms of a need.
