Anyone hear anything about the draft lottery being moved due to ott/bos makeup game Sunday? Or are they still having it Sunday? - SMS4016
If both teams make the playoffs, does it matter? |

I think Schenner has got everything but the great speed and the PP QB. He's a good passer, and has a hard shot, granted the wind up he has is slow. His decision making needs some work, but I've been very high on him all year. I think in the future he will be that #1 guy, just not an offensive minded #1. - GirouxForTheShow
Schenn's upside is of a #2 shutdown defensive defenseman on a top pairing as a compliment to a puck mover, or to a true #1 defenseman.

They also lack the ammo to land a #1 without it hurting the team as it sits now & putting their already lack of system depth another decade behind. |

Collectively I've seen enough from L Schenn, Lauridsen, and Huskins (I would bring him back for depth) for the flyers to make another hockey trade like the L Schenn trade last summer involving one of Coburn/Grossman to bring back a younger forward or Offensive type Dman like McBain. If I were the Flyers I'd look at that. |

Drew Leblanc, wins the Hobey Baker, first NHL game gets on the 2nd line a center in between Kane and Sharp. Must be nice. |

I'd really like to know more about Grossman's injury, and what the organization believes going forward. They know more than we do.
I'd pretty much try to keep him at almost any cost myself though. Before going down with an injury he was the teams best and most consistent d-man. He was a rock last year as well.
I'd be pretty cool with Schenn, Grossman and Oliver as the shutdown crew next year if need be. |

No it wouldn't matter but league might not have it while game is being played. |

There's quite a Toronto presence in Tampa Bay tonight.
One thing I regret about this season is the chance to knock the Leafs out of the playoffs. |

I think you're kidding yourself if you think that they can trade Coburn or Grossmann because of having Lauridsen and Huskins. Lauridsen right now is at best a #6 low minute player, who really needs more AHL time. And Huskins is a 7th defenseman. |

Well when you keep many picks, don't trade the players shortly after taking them, let them develop you have this option.

If they end up going against Montreal they could actually make it on to round 2.
Reimer has really done a nice job for them. I thought Kadri was a politically correct draft choice for the city, and a bust. The kid has game. |

Their prospect Alex Broadhurst just scored for London. They picked him in the 7th round in 2011 |

I was always huge on Kadri, the kid was a bust cause he played in TO. I remember watching that draft and someone mentioning him along with Tavares and Duchsene. He's a good offensive player with an edge. Seems like a leader. |

Stolarz made an amazing save and then this:
Anthony SanFilippo @AnthonySan37
The save by Stolarz was so good that a Plymouth exec sitting next to me said, "That kid has been the difference… Great save." |

No I am not kidding myself. I think your selling Huskins short. I would sign him for depth. I also think your selling Lauridsen short. I'd like to see more of him. But if Pronger can possibly work with him I see nothing stopping him from being an effective shutdown guy on the 3rd pairing next year. I think he has all the tools to be effective in that role. I haven't seen him look out of place over the last couple weeks at all.
And in a trade I would like to bring in a dman with a different skill set like a Mcbain. So really not a huge leap of faith

I think that's a perfect example of being patient with a player. Toronto did a great job developing him.

Torn on Bryz next year. The only thing that really bothers me about him (that is more abundantly clear watching Mason) is his nonexistent puck movement. I really think it contributes a lot to the wear and tear of our defensemen, and helps the other team so much knowing they can forecheck the hell out of us not worrying about good outlets by the goalie.
And it won't get better - Just5
Excellent point. Add that to a cap hit of 5.7million for 7 years and you have my case for buying him out. |

I think your way overvaluing Huskins, if you think his presence allows you to trade Coburn or Grossmann. Lauridsen is no where near ready to take on the responsibilities and roles on the team, that Coburn and Grossmann fill.
I think Lauridsen can be a future 3rd pair stay at home physical defenseman in this League also. But that is not what Coburn and Grossmann are. They are both top 4 defenseman in this League. And neither Huskins or Lauridsen can replace them. |

GFTS, I would say that to be a #1 guy, they need to have the offensive side of the game. Puck moving, great skater, great passer, PP quarterback, hard shot.
Big Schenn is not there yet, even though he gets the toughest assignments and eats big minutes. - Marc D
A lot of teams, many of them very successful, don' t have true number 1 dmen. I think Schenn can however be a top pair guy who can be matched against another teams top line. |
