I don't know man, I don't think Bud would have a copyright case here. If, say, Molson started selling goal lights you put in your house that light up when your team scores, that would be a case. But trying to stop Toronto from lighting up their major landmark I don't think would fly. Besides, nobody would be making any money off that, and it's not like the CN tower competes with Budweiser for market share in the beer industry. They have no motivation to stop it.

I think the idea is really cool, especially since the CN tower is all set up for it already, I can't believe they're not doing it. It seems like the CN tower's destiny to become a giant goal light.

A shot of red going from the base to the top whenever there's a goal would look pretty cool. You can see the CN tower from a whiles away... and on cloudy nights, the red flash in the clouds would make a cool effect.

You know I like you so I won't try to convince you otherwise but I'm quite certain that the Tower flashing red after Leaf goals is not infringment of any copyright the Bud may/or may not even have or a toy goal light.

I had assumed they'd have it coloured Blue or whatever ...then flash red when the Leafs score. The recent play of Carey "needs to find Jesus" Price would ensure a whole lotta red.

I'm pretty sure Bud has a licensing agreement for their little goal lights with the NHL, so nobody else can do that particular idea. But them saying that covers this kind of thing as well would be a stretch. Bud tried to sue other beer companies for making poopty piss beer with lime in it, and they couldn't make that case. Why would they even get involved with the CN tower? It's bad PR, they'll look like a bunch of Debbie Downers in the biggest hockey market.

It's pretty simple, a goal is scored, they change the LEDS to red. Why not, they're going to light it up anyway.
