They dominated TB, they were just unlucky. Which is a reverse from the rest of the year where they've been dominated, but still lucky enough to score more goals.
Sometimes, when you "direct" the puck to the net you are unlucky for not hitting the net (IN no way is it a reflection of your lack of skill or the skill of the other team in defending, it's all luck)
Corsi is a solid stat, it's always right. Sometimes when it's wrong you chalk it up to luck/unlucky.

I don't know. The 5-2 loss may add fuel to the fire.
We shall see.
BTW, St-Louis, even at 40 years old is still a friggin' beast. Incredible. |

He's always been the driving engine of that team, even before Lecavalgay became more machine than man. |

I think they said last night that the only guys ahead of him that led the league in points at that age were Gretzky and Howe ( or something like that)
Pretty amazing. |

I think the comment was only 2 other players averaged 1.2 points a game at that age. They were Howe and Lemieux. And good morning |

At first I thought the Leafs lost tonights game when I saw the score. Then I saw the shot totals and realised the Leafs actually squeeked out the win. CORSI! - systemtool
They are now the 29th best team in the league.
I am really looking forward to the Corsi draft... I hope they can pick up a little more GGG in the later rounds.

St. Louis, 37, would become the oldest player to win a scoring title and it would come nine years since winning his first Art Ross Trophy in 2004. |

At 37, it is a pretty good story.
What I find interesting about it is that he got a late start. Yet, he seems to be keeping up his production long past when most other players statistically drop off.
It makes me wonder if age is the problem, or if it is the amount of pro hockey played that just takes its toll on the body. |
