Wait, most of the board disagreed with me? Those bastards!
Yeah, I've cut down on my snark. My Dr. said it was making me unpleasant to be around. I asked if he was sure it was the snark. He said let's start there and see where it takes us.
But this is one of those rare debates where there's no heat to it because it's abstract and so completely out of the fan's hands, and because, in my opinion, there's no wrong answer. No matter what, the Flyers should come out of this year's draft with a very good prospect. - wolfhounds
We may disagree, but this post I agree with.
I hope I didn't come off as snarky or a know it all. Never my intention. I just like talking puck. |

If Nashville had not matched the waiver for Weber they could have had the (potential) 5th and 8th spot in this draft... Fascinating.
Although our pick might not have been at 8th then.... |

My post wasn't meant to make anyone feel bad I wanted to point out a good conversation can be had! It's often not called out when a reasonable discussion happens.

I love how you can come up with a point and in the same post just blow it away. You could have your own thread. |

And this is why I have this little niggling doubt about our pick. I could see Homer trading it for short term D help and that scares me. Really, really scares me... - FlyersGrace
I wouldn't expect this year's pick, Schenn or Couturier to be in any danger unless there is a trade on the table for a guy like Tyler Myers who is young and has huge untapped upside.
I'd be more concerned for Read and the rest of our picks from this draft... namely #38. |

After this season you'd think their perception of a quick rebuild may be dead on the vine. It's best to keep their picks and maybe pick up another if they can. |

Yeah, over the past 40-years they've tried revamping, reloading, drafting, trading, signing, Lindrosing, firing, hiring... the only thing they haven't tried is exercising patience.
The one thing that teams like Detroit and NJ and the Pens have over the Flyers is that they have continuity to their lineup. Flyers' roster turnover from year to year is pretty insane, and we all know about the coaching and goaltending carousels. |

You're right of course. I'm hoping they see it differently this year. They can certainly be a playoff team next season. They are a couple five game losing streaks out of being 4th or 5th. There's no need to panic with the forwards on this roster. I can't imagine they'll all perform this poorly next season.
On a different yet related note. Do I remember hearing that the draft is in Philly in 2014. |

Any dman you'd draft outside of Jones would be at least 1-3 seasons away from the show, and 2-6 years away from really filling the Pronger void (assuming they are even able to). - Tomahawk
ISS think Ristolainen is as NHL ready as Jones is.

Risto might be able to tread water, because he's already been playing against men for the past two seasons, but you can count the number of 18-19 year old impact NHL defensemen over the past couple of decades on one hand. Jones looks like the next. |
