Carter stole the hearts of significant others of many here on HB. Briere did not.

Or there's a difference between recognizing a guy's past contributions in spite of his decline when he behaves with pure class and supposedly defending him. I haven't seen anyone say don't buy him out (or trade him) but treating him with respect is something he deserves. And I know a lot more women who have a heart-on for Danny than ever though of Wides with any affection.

Wait, the NBA playoffs are happening??? Since when??? - jmatchett383
Last week. I know. Hard to believe the so-called major sport is in it's post-season. I haven't heard a soul outside of ESPN with a word on it. |

I say sign John LeClair or Eric Lindros to 1-day contracts and let them retire (again) as Flyers.

2 for Ristolainen, and one for Poluck, i would be more than happy with to end up with either guy - Yosimar89
one of them had Monahan still on the board. I know some folks here love him. Should be interesting. |

Steven didn't even have Ristolainen projected a a first-round pick at all, and I would be shocked if it plays out that way. I do, however, agree that Robert Hägg is going to go ahead of where he's generally ranked. I see him as a future Kenny Jönsson or Kim Johnsson type of NHL defenseman.

somewhat interesting. - wilsonecho91
It's interesting how solid Columbus has become this season, how they'll have Murray ready to use soon, AND how they have THREE first round picks in what I believe is a pretty deep draft. They're the youngest team in the league (or were at the beginning of the season, they've added Gaborik since then XD), but hopefully things just continue to go uphill for them. as they're amazing young prospects continue to develop further. |

It'll be fine, if I were Homer I would trade whatever pick we end up with + coburn or Mezaros for a higher pick, or something along those lines. Even if we only end up with the 11th pick or so, we'll still have plenty of chance to get a higher pick. Also consider that if we don't, and we just pick with the 10th/11th/whatever mid pick, that Kopitar was an 11th, Marc Staal a 12th, Giroux a 20th, Karlsson a 15th, Eberle a 22nd, and James Neal a 33rd. It's routine for there to be an amazing player who goes mid 1st round to early 2nd just because they were scouted incorrectly, or developed better than expected. The Flyers are very good at picking up good players like this, and it should be even more likely for this to happen in a deep draft. |

But only if he actually is - bmeltzer
I'd think sitting currently at 9th D might be just that in the BPA but over 2 months before making a selection can change a teams board often |

So.....from what I've gathered the Flyers could draft at 1, 8,9,10,11,12, or 13 |

I agree. I would think Edmonton could be a possibility to move up if we offer Coburn. I would want something else back. Would you think Edmonton would ponder our 10th and Coburn for their 5th and 35th. Something like that |

Frankly, no XD.
I think from Edmontons perspective, the difference between the 5th and the 10th pick could mean the difference between the next big player and the next decent 2nd liner. You have to wonder whether it makes it worth it to them to have an average defenseman who's had some great streaks before + the 10th overall, which is more likely percentage-wise to be a washout or decent player, instead of having the pick that has a higher percentage to be a great player. It really just depends on whether edmonton finds it worth it. Other than that I think it's spot on value-wise. |
