Not with an overtime win - Cptmjl
Now...the Rags just need 1 point. Even if we won in the shootout, they would have needed a win. Now, all they have to do is get to OT and we're (frank)ed. |

Yeah but we would've won the tiebreak with an overtime or reg win. That shootout pt would've been worthless. Whatever doesn't matter now |

Yes lets.
Sens still need a point to pass you. I'm confident they can do that in the next 2 games, but it's not out of the question. |

It's great to make the playoffs and all, but I'm (frank)ing pissed.
Even the shootouts chances were poop. |

Huge devils fan tomorrow. Bummer that Brodeur isn't playing.
Only Isle I was pleased with tonight was Nabby. Everyone else sucked, JT was solid in OT but nothing to show for it. |

How do you figure that? We were tied in points going into tonight. How did we hold any tiebreak? |

The Rangers have more wins than us, more ROWs than us. Capt....where you coming up with this stuff? |

EVEN, if we won in regulation or overtime tonight, the Rangers would have had to win either way. And, they would still have the tiebreak over us, regardless.
2 points would have been huge, regardless of how we got it.

We don't hold any tiebreakers. Just gotta hope the devils help us out tomorrow or Ottawa blows both their games. Not impossible but we shall see |

I'm so annoyed. Isles have looked aweful last 3 games. In annoyed that they treated them like throw away games.
Instead of playing Montreal. Now it looks like we going to play pens. If we play like we did last 3 games we'll get swept.
Btw. Worst islander in last 15 games including the hot streak has been Matt moulson. He misses a tap in goal a game. He fans on almost 75% of his one timers.
Streit has lost a step for sure. When in last time he put in a point shot on pp? |

That was my point. I don't know where capt was coming up with his tiebreak scenarios.
2 points would have at least made the Rangers win tomorrow. |

If you really believe that then I can only describe you as hockey stupid. Clearly this team has played at it's highest level since 2007. Your negativity makes a mockery of your own common sense. it's very rare that I insult someone on a message board, but some of your comments on this seem as though you're begging for it. , - keaner17
Where did you think this team would end up at the start of the season? Now I know this is Hockeybuzz so your answer will be "We'd end up in 8th place with 55 points, play the Penguins and Tavares will get 28 goals". But if anyone feels like a little honesty, where did you put this team in January?
The team got hot and went on a run. Nothing more, nothing less. That run is the reason why we are where we are. The entire season as a whole was not good at all and over an 82 game season we miss the playoffs. Now we are going to play the Pens and get swept. I don't view that as a success after a 5 year rebuild. |

Agreed. I was feeling on top of the world when we clinched. Last 3 games we looked like we going to be easy opponent for Pitt |

How come you blissfully ignore my posts?
I don't care to be the smartest person in the room. Doesn't mean a lot to me, but a response would be nice.
You fighting with a lot of people who hate the way things have gone on here. It's laughable |

If the rangers win they would have 22 ROW. If we won tonight we would have had 21 ROW. I heard Howie talk about the SO point not mattering and I didn't get that one either. Regardless of how we got a point or two points, we needed the Rangers to lose. |
|
|

So if the Rags lose to the Devs in regulation tomorrow, the Isles finish in 7th unless the Sens crap the bed in their last two against Philly and Boston. |

I haven't fought with anyone at all. You are trying to pick a fight with me so I'm ignoring you.
I'm not here to fight. I'm here to talk about the team and how they are playing. And I think it's pretty obvious over the past 4 games that we are seeing the REAL Islanders again. |

Stop acting like you're the only suffering Islanders fan around. It's a (frank)ing insult to a lot of people who post here. |

I thought Streit's been the worst for the last few games...but yeah, Moulson's missed more tap-ins than Grabner's missed breakaways
