I'm always weary on Russians. Filatov, Radulov are examples. Yakupov is different because he's stated he wants to play in NA, same with Grigorenko. They both declined KHL contracts to play here.
The ones that have panned out Have usually went later.
If Ryan Pulock is still there I want him. We need OFD. We've already got a million DFD, we need and OFD.
Him or Josh Morrissey.
But in no way shape or form and I upset that we won past few games like some fans. - FLYERSROCK!

Not saying they would the point is almost any kid they take unless they land a top 3 pick will need more time to develop and that's the likely time frame like it or not doesn't matter if they are in the KHL or not. - ob18
I just personally don't want to waste a top 10 pick on a guy that might not even play in the NHL. Nichushkin hasn't shown he's want to play in NA.
The kid has talent clearly--- what Russian doesn't?
How did Zherdev do here again?
Sa no to Nichy if he's still there please

We didn't draft Zherdev he wasn't great before he got here.
I would rush to draft a Russian but I won't just toss it aside either.

What would u do if say for example Nichushkin, Pulock, Ristolainen/Zadorov were still there when web pick... Who'd you draft?
I'd choose Pulock... Great upside, OFD... Perfect for our needs

I'd go Ristolainen then Pulock - ob18
I heard he's a beast
What's his offensive upside tho? We need need need offense dmen. Kimmo will be gone after next season or 14/15, then we have Gus... Our only OFD in the org other than Kimmo is Gus.

Dont know if your counting Ghost.
Im more pissed at our diminished odds at the #1 pick rather than the difference of 8 or 11.

Not saying we don't but you asked who I'd pick and I don't know what the upside will be outside what is said by scouts. But I'd say he has something to work with.

There's a youtube video of him taking either a penalty shot or a shootout shot, not sure which...and he scored. I'm not sure that makes him gifted offensively, but it says something since he is D.

Great to see this team play hard and finish the season strong.
Amazed at how well they played with the current defensive core. - stveshdy
Funny what happens when the forwards start helping out more and you also get clutch saves when there are breakdowns. Even a patchwork defense corps looks perfectly serviceable when there's buy-in to team D and the goaltending is there.

We were never gonna win the lottery
Really not worried Bout it.
If the 8 seed wins the draft then EVERY flyer fan has a right to be pissed lol
Not if 7, 9 or whatever wins, cause if we lost we'd be #8

Now we have to hope Lavy noticed this and adjusts with using this method next season (should be stick around)
As an overall ranking, so would I. However, if both were on the board for Flyers -- I think Pulock may be, not sure about RR -- I think Pulock better suits a specific long-term need and as the higher "home run" pick potential with only slightly more risk of being a bust.

It's like I've said don't get tied to loving 1 player, plenty of really good talent will be available when they pick. - ob18
That's what most people aren't understanding... Best draft since '03.
The talent between pick 8 and pick 12 is honestly nothing. Really.
Honestly not much difference from 8-15... Whoever missed the playoffs is getting a very solid future player. That's what most people aren't getting. Hence hwy I'm not upset at all we won our past f games
NOW if we were bottom 5 that's a different story... Top 5 picks will be future superstars. but we weren't in that position for awhile.

I agree & I probably would go that way just because all I have are highlights of RR while I have watched Pulock even if it was only a few games. I based this on rankings not personal choice.
I'm not tied to any player, I know I asked an WHL writer/scout about him before the CHL season started so he's been on my radar.

RR looks like a really solid top-end #2-3 guy, like a poor man's Niklas Kronwall.
Pulock has a better shot at #1 status, could be a more like PK Subban, minus the brashness.
