I would definitely like to see more of him. He sounds quite promising from all the sippets I've seen. Runs the PP efficiently, logs heavy minutes in all situations, and is a very good skater.
Wasn't there a story about Renberg saying the Flyers contacted him about Hagg a few months back? Could be a good sign the intend on holding onto that 2nd rounder, if not intending to move up with it... - hereticpride
Bill mentioned that a few pages back. I have watched as much as I could of those who made the CHL playoffs in each league but I'm a big fan of the OHL so I've watched a ton of that these playoffs.
I also go online to fine what I can even if it's a highlight package so I at least have an idea on a player. |

There are question marks with every prospect. I entertain all scenarios as a GM and try not to lean one way or the other on any of them because something may turn up that's best for the team now & long term.
I'm just suggesting I don't give away the pick for the sake of moving down. I put it out there that yes I'd listen to offers but at the same time let the league know if they want to make an offer make it worthy my time to listen. - ob18
There's also the possibility of moving "unwanted" bulk for draft picks. would it be possible, if even only for a 4th/5th, to move Briere? That way we could save the buyout, and atleast get something out of it, even if only minuscule. We could also "upgrade" our 2nd rounder potentially, by trading it + Coburn or Mez for an early 20s pick, although I would like to see Coburn moved in a deal acquiring Yandle. |

You could always try to move a Briere for a middle round selection. I wonder how that will work being the buyout period is probably going to happen while the finals are going on.

Probably means Foles is gone because I'm sure Chip Kelley feels that he is the right coach to make Vick finally able to read defenses and use checkdowns after 13 years in the league. Seems like every coach Vick has is that girlfriend who thinks that she can change the boyfriend. |

It doesn't mean Foles is gone at all, if they wanted to move him the time was well before the draft and he is still here. |

Kimmo/Schenn
Grossmann/Mezaros
Coburn/Gustafsson
Gervais/Huskins
Lauridsen/Pronger
That's a lot of NHL defenders.
going to be curious to see who plays next year.
Injuries cost the Flyers the playoffs this year. - Winning
Pronger will probably live out on LTIR or the whole "trying to get better" is Homer justifying his LTIR until he can take him off and buy him out over the summer. Lauridson will go back to AHL and remain first call up. Huskins won't be resigned (I like him but we are full on D (when healthy) and he'll also cost us a 7th pick so... probably not)
Leaving us with
Kimmo/Schenn
Coburn/Grossman
Meszaros/Gus
Gervais
The only D that has truly graduated to the Flyers is Gus. Playing with poise at 25 minute mark, he should be considered a Full time flyer by next camp. Bourdon might stick around for next year as an 8th. And if we get a Yandle or Carlson, expect Coburn or Mez to be going the other way to balance the budget. |

If the Flyers do acquire John Carlson, I will spend a whole month paying homage to Odin.

It depends on what kind of offense hr decides to run here. At oregon his qbs were mobile and it made sense incorporating their speed into the offense. But he was also successful at new hampshire with pure pocket passers. |

The biggest thing with him is the quickness that he runs his offense. Which might be good for Vick to get in a rhythm. Barkley isn't a bad athlete, but he definitely is more of a pocket passer. I'm curious to see how Chip Kelly is going to run his offense in the NFL. I think he's had a pretty good draft so far. |

Not going to argue here or anything, but if the Flyers could get a 2nd round pick for Coburn that would be a pretty good deal imo. - flyer_nutter
That's a a terrible deal. |

kelly likes the no huddle offense so yea i agree that gives vick an advantage but with the terrible o line we've had wouldn't vick get injured very easily |

Buying out Pronger is a waste of a buyout. He understands his situation, he understands is low likelihood of coming back better than anyone. He understands his age, and he understands the burden his contract is to the team. He's a class guy, and I think if Homer nudged him towards retirement, he would probably do it. I think bringing back a nearly identical defense doesn't solve anything for us, either. Thats almost the exact defense that took us out of competition early on. Mez and Coburn both need to go, I think. If we could get Carlson, or Goligoski, or Shattenkirk, or heck even Pietrangelo (As much as that isn't going to happen), then our defense will be better off, even with Lauri and Gus holding down the 3rd pair. |

Lane Johnson is a stud, I think that was a huge pick-up. Granted, he doesn't single-handily shore up the O Line, but he certainly helps.

Meh, why not? I think we'll be needing a 3rd line winger so if we can get him for a fairly reasonable price. |
