Sure they are. But if you come back and perform and are symptom free, it's much more fishy to "relapse" without cause. Vs. being in the midst of a concussion and prolonging the recovery time to miss the trade deadline. - section32

No it's not. You don't need to be involved in physical contact for symptoms to reoccur. Physical exertion is known to cause issues with players with PCS.
Bottom line it is absurd to suggest that JVR was faking his concussion to avoid being traded.

Anyone who believes a player was faking an injury to avoid being traded doesn't deserve to have any of his/her opinions validated. They pretty much destroy any semblance of credibility.

Why? Are you insinuating players would never do this? |

That's big. I would be ok with a bryz buyout to open up cap room for a potential iginla deal |

Did a new article today for the Flyers official site, pinch hitting for ASF. Pardon a few typos that slipped through -- I know the Flyers have the default 11th pick heading into draft lottery; wrote 10th and didn't catch it til after submission.

I truly thought they were a 5-7 seed team. Still think they are - Just5
They clearly aren't as structured or they wouldn't be fishing or golfing right now. |

Same as with your trading Coburn idea. Better save some Cap space for a replacement Goalie.

I am not suprised where they finished overall in the standings. I didnt expect them to be as bad as they were some nights, but there are a lot of better teams out there. I think they will be back next year, and big Fa's would still really consider them as a realistic option to sign. - flyer_nutter
I sure as hell hope so. |

Not true. Sometimes a team just doesn't play up to their capabilities.
Two more wins and a tie this Season, and the Flyers are a playoff team. Is that a big stretch?

Oh please. It's never happened before and the players are beyond reproach. Grow up. Stop sleeping with you old Hockey Digest issues under your pillow. They are humans. |

And my point was if he came backed and performed well it would be unlikely that physical exertion would cause the relapse. |

There is nothing wrong with making a general statement about players, and that they're human. But where I come from. I wouldn't accuse a specific player of that. Unless I had substantial proof and evidence of it. And you have yet to offer any. Other then oh please, players are human.

It's happened before. Players have come back from concussions, only to have symptoms reoccur at a later time. And you don't have to be hit again for it to happen. Because one thing we do know about players, is that they play with injuries. That they hide injuries from trainers and the team.
I think you just need to admit that you have zero evidence to back up your claim. |

And that "not playing to potential" is part of gheir makeup. I got tired of watching them show up one night and not the next. That's part of their character and what their potential is. |

Essentially I think you are saying there is a chance players fake an injury, or the length of one. To think its not even possible, is making these guys out to be some kind of puppy healers imo.
I'd tend to agree with you, especially after the greed I saw during the last lockout. Although, I dont think Briere is one of those guys. Just me. - flyer_nutter
I don't know. I like Danny too. But I'm a bit tired of three sub par season with two brilliant playoffs. Buying him out might be the best thing for his career. A fresh start and new contract while still collecting 2/3 of the old one. Not a bad deal. |

If it's part of their makeup, then it would be permanent. And they would never play to their potential. You're mistaking inconsistent play for their makeup and character, when it's really about a young and developing team going through growing pains. And you didn't address how close the Flyers were, even playing poorly for most of the year, to making the playoffs.

To do it I'd pass on bringing gagne back, buy bryz and Briere out. Not sure where that puts us. With mez's issues its prob not realistic to move coburn. I'd move Mez for pennies on the dollar to fit iginla |
