lol Panotch on CSN on offer sheet rumor/possibility for Pietrangelo....

If Homer ever decides to offer sheet STL's Dman Shattenkirk or Pietrangelo, he better send one to both simultaneously. - Chris48

Yeah, you need to hold all the picks at the time of the offer sheet. You'd need 8 firsts to do that. I really don't know if Homer will go that route this time around.. very risky and it handcufed us last summer. |

I think the Blues probably keep Pietrangelo at any cost. I'd be alright offer sheeting Shattenkirk I suppose, but would rather trade a player on the roster instead of a 1st rounder.
I'm going to try and watch St. Louis in these playoffs. In particular Bouwmeester. |

It's also illegal to have more than one offer sheet floating at a given time, IIRC.
They also have to be the picks originally owned by the team. |

They should renegotiate Briere and Bryzgalov's contracts, and then buy them out for less money |

So how does the lottery work this season? Does Florida get three calls to the flyers one or something? |

There's 200 lottery balls. 3 of them are the Flyers. They pick one, that team gets the top pick and every team who was lower than them in the standings drops one slot. |

They added strict limits in term as well as differences in yearly salary, but there's no renegotiation of a deal when it's signed. |

Didn't know that ..... thanks for the info.... I doubt it would be 4 1st pick based on the salary we would offer Shattenkirk though. Don't know if this applies to the new CBA

There is no question in my mind that Laviolette has the ability and knowledge to tweak his style of play. The question is will he? He's always seemed committed to his philosophies. Some of which are very good, and some parts of his preferred style of play should remain. But they need to be more of a 3 zone team. You can pressure the puck all over the ice, not just deep in the offensive zone. And his breakout schemes need to get much better. - MJL
That's the multi-million dollar question.
I trust Homer. This season was the first misstep under his watch. I would like to think that, now that this season has blown up, he and Lavi will be closer to being on the same page than how things appeared at this season's outset.
If not, then I think the team (that is, Mr. Snider) needs to evaluate everything from his own involvement on down. |

What is the feeling in the room about Bryz being given another season before a decision on a buyout? I think it's the right choice. Many outsiders who aren't flyers fans seem to this it's a dumb choice but clearly do not follow the team.
Also how do you all feel about a Gagne return at cheap cap hit? I love this decision as well. I'm not convince he is done with scoring, at least not in bunches. He is a hard worker and gets back pretty quickly to help the D. Sometimes it's as if we have three dmen. - SuperSchennBros
if there is a viable alternative to bryz, i would move on. he's not a top 3rd goalie and the contract is poison. i'm not going to get into the media or locker room stuff either. he's just gotta stop the puck like we've seen from the other guy. he's getting bought out this yr or nxt, imo. mason will be there to compete w/ whomever.

Does anyone in here really want Iglina as a Flyer? Are you willing to pay the price? Do you think he could still put up big numbers next to Giroux? I think Iglina would be good for this team. I think he would be a nice balance in the locker room. Kind of a fix between both Jagr and Pronger. - SuperSchennBros
Mark me down as a no. I'd rather have vanek. Best hands in front of the net in the league. Would be deadly on our pp. He wants out of buffalo. Read and coburn would get it donE I think. |

Should Nashville really swollow that entire Weber contract? As in allow him to see through the entire deal? With the cap going down and Dinner making the same ammount of money. |

I'm a fan of Bryzgalov and I'm on the fence...I understand both sides of the discussion and ultimately, if they're certain to use a CBO on him, might as well do it now, rather than risk an injury.
Of course, if he plays at a Vezina level next season...
I'm very open to a Gagne return, depending on what assets are used to help the defense. - Jsaquella
100% agreed. Once you decide to move on, no need to wait a year to do it. What's changed your mind on bryz? Masons play? |

Are you saying that Bryzgalov is not in the top 3rd of starting Goalies? If you are, I couldn't disagree more. He's shown that with a competent team defense in front of him, he can play at a very high level. A long with the improved play in front of him, he needs to step up his game. But there is no doubt that the situation along with the amount and type of games he's had to play in, has been a factor. I want to see an improved team game, and see how Bryzgalov responds. If the results aren't improved, then I'll be ready to cut bait. I think you keep saying he's getting bought out simply because that's what you want to happen, and have been against the player, and more importantly the contract, since the beginning. He may eventually wind up being bought out. But I'm going to keep an open mind going forward and see what happens.
