i could hate any team on any given day, depending on my mood. i don't hate the isles the way i used to, but i still can't root for them despite their perpetual suckage.

i do find the canucks and ducks annoying at times, but there are things about both clubs i like. i was a huge vancouver fan in the early-mid 90s, until bure left and messier joined them. ruined everything.

the real reason i'd root for the sharks is because mclellan constantly looks like a monchichi after an all-night bender.

We will get to have a very good look at how Bob's progressed next season. But I also find it interesting that the Team Russia coach (allegedly) denied Bob the opportunity to be a backup in the IIHF tourney because he thought Bob was too tired.

I'd be willing to sweeten the pot with a 3rd rounder or prospect, but ideally it'd be a two for one swap. Would really only work with Columbus, because I don't want to drop too far. Calgary is picking 6th and then has Pittsburgh and St Louis, both of which would be a bit late for me to give up 11.

It's not the NFL. If there's a specific guy at 11 they want, and figure he'll be gone at 14, they might be willing to pay a premium. Plus they have 3 picks in the first round.

Bill, among defensemen, I also think that Nikita Zadarov of the London Knights is a real possibility for the Flyers at the 11th pick, if he makes it there. He 6'5, can punish forwards, isn't afraid to drop the gloves, and is actually pretty skilled offensively. I like him better than Nurse, who I think is a bit of a tweener -- good offensively, good defensively, but not great at either.

Agreed. I've been doing some more research on this beast...seems like his ceiling could be the next Chara/Pronger type in time. He's 6'7" (added a couple inches this season), plays a stiff physical game and just tapping into his potential offensively. I'm sure the Flyers love his size. He seems to have a very good attitude as well. I'm updating my current list of players that could possibly be available at the 11 spot in order of preference:

Nurse (not likely, but)
Pulock
Zadorov
Lindholm
Monahan
Ristolainen
