Still dodging the issue. And the value that a versatile player like Read brings in a Cap environment that is going down significantly for next Season. And how they replace that with limited Cap space to start with. A long with the other areas of the team that they have to improve. - MJL
I'm not dodging the answer, nor do I owe one. There are ways to fill holes, it is just a matter of doing so. Again the flyers have had plenty of holes going into this season. So if you have an answer to all the flyers problems, please, I would love to hear them.
Now what I'm saying is, I wouldn't risk Read's final season here as a flyer. I would prefer the second round pick if possible. Move him while the value is there |

which one exactly? 700 or 800? the composite sticks are so bloody expensive, but the sher-wood is reasonably priced in it's category, and i love the light weight, so i'm curious to try them. used sher-woods for years...you know, when they were actually made of wood. - hammarby31
ive had both.
either one is good, i didnt prefer one over the other |

And your reply here again shows that you are dismissing, or not considering the value that Read has of what he brings to the team, for the Cap hit he has. You need Cap space to fill holes. I'd prefer Read to the 2nd rounder. That's a no brainer. |

in the west, i'm going with vancouver. anaheim a close second.
in the east, i'm going with ottawa. i'll pick the caps as a 2nd.
these are teams i'd "like" to win...or more precisely, be "ok" with winning. the rest can go jump in the f'ng river. |

Bill addressed Akeson and Cousins in his blog today. He'll address the defenseman tomorrow. Watching Manning play this year, not likely. - MJL
If only all of Manning's shot attempts could turn into broken play passes onto the stick of open teammates... |

I'm in a similar boat...can't bring myself to really root for any of the Eastern teams except maybe the Isles. As for the west, it would be either Detroit or San Jose. The rest of the west can follow your instructions. |

Clearly I don't have an answer, which I never denied. So I asked you what the team should do. I personally feel a decision on read should be made while he has another season. This is the time you can make choices on whether or not to extend. However is Read's agent is anything like Darrell Powe, try to find out right away.
If a decision on Matt Read was really a no brained, he wouldn't be on the fence. |

regarding Niemi, I've watched the last 3 or so games against LA and I swear that Carter still can't beat him. Glorious chance after glorious chance. In a strange way, I take pleasure in that. |
