You think that's bad, I used to live in Northampton County, PA- for the baseball package, I was blacked out for Philly, Pittsburgh AND Baltimore. Pittsburgh was farther away from my house than Boston. My argument always was this- if you put YOUR commercials on for the feed, then you're making your money anyway- it's not like I'm not going to have some kind of regular TV package simply because I bought the sports feed for the computer. This country is a backwater when it comes to TV, internet and phone service, and it's because every company is more interested in squeezing every last dime out of the deal rather than providing content. - dcb1
I never had a problem with the old blackout rules of simply blacking out local games, but somethings very wrong when the team is playing 3000 miles away and they can still black the game out. It's worse when the team owner can demand that you buy his cable channel on his cable company to watch his team or else nada, despite having purchased the games through the season ticket. Even nationally televised games are blacked out for the Flyers. Even Bill Gates wasn't able to get that type of treatment!

Be nice to have a normal thread today. - Cptmjl
I don't mind the argumentative nature of it all. The bigger issue is though that you have to provide substance rather than just making blanket statements without any research and then swearing you're right despite folks providing FACTUAL evidence to the contrary...then proclaiming two pages later "I proved you wrong"
It got damn near laughable. At one point he used Pat Lafontaine as an example of an Islander who DIDN"T make the jump straight the NHL. He obviously didn't even research it and I told him Lafontaine came directly from the QJMHL and then played with the Olympic team, returning to the Isles immediately...He responds by saying 'you're wrong and I proved you wrong"...ugh.
At some point even if you feel you're right, you have to recognize that the entire community here is calling you wrong...so just shut up! At least take a more passive tone and conceed the ol' "Agree to disagree' attitude.
It was funny though watching nearly a dozen people just blasting him from all directions and him trying to keep up

It's impossible to have a debate w someone who changes their stance, topic, and never admits t being wrong.

i know it feels good...i used to think kasper was our bat poop crazy member.. boy was i wrong - NYI78
But kasper is also extremely friendly, which makes it okay IMO. He comes and goes with his opinions on some things but he has always been fun to deal with.
Contract...for many years....for lots of money....doesn't matter which channel it's on. The Dolans will be paying for all of their players and half of ours for many years to come. Besides, the fans who should really be pi$$ed are the rag$ fans- they're the ones who get dumped on MSG Plus every time the Knicks play. God invented the basketball court for one reason- to keep pigeon sh*t off the ice. That's about the only thing it's good for. I'd rather watch dog dirt harden than spend five minutes watching that cr*p. - dcb1

Could be worse... it could be like Chicago when all home games were blacked out because Bill Wirtz wanted local fans to come to the game to see his really bad product, rather then see it free on TV.

And he's a pens fan and we still tolerate him, that says a lot!
